It does.

Actually a year ago someone posted a future rendering of Austin’s skyline and 6XG and BBVA Tower both looked identical to two towers in Edmonton.

Wow! At first glance, I thought that was a rendering for Austin.

Here's another view of Edmonton where it looks very similar to 6X.

Totally off topic but rogers place in Edmonton looks very similar to the BOK Center in Tulsa.

So, it's definitely peaking above The Independent now from a few spots around Southwest Austin. From the Y at Oak Hill on 290, and from around Sunset Valley along 71 and near Brodie Lane. I still think it's because of the elevation difference, but Sixth & Guadalupe is close to taking the number 1 spot soon.

They’ve surpassed the first setback of the residential portion. Can be seen from the east.

Just trying to eyeball how many floors remaining I count around 18 plus the crown. Anyone have the actual #s, and how many more ft?

It's funny how in this picture, you could almost draw a straight line right between buildings built before 1995 (on the right) and those coming after.

I do wish Austin had a nice Chateau downtown like Edmonton does though...

Well, we do have the Driskill...The Chateau hotels in Canada were built mostly by the two national railways (CN and CP). Most Canadian cities (and a few national parks) have some version of them.

It definitely appears big from there. I was noticing it yesterday from a few spots around South Austin, and it also appears to be taller than The Austonian now, but again, I think it's the elevation difference at the moment. I can tell, though, that it's very close to the same height.

I'm liking those dark vertical accents against that mirror like facade.

I think one of those accents should be a bright white stripe when it's fully lit. Pretty awesome, IMO.

From that angle, the skyline is starting to give me (flipped around) Griffith Park vibes. Gonna be impressive when all the buildings U/C are done.

Interesting, the AON Center (white-framed black glass in the middle of the LA photo) is 860', so just a tad shorter than 6X will be. So 6x would make a pretty substantial impact on the LA skyline (3rd tallest).

The rest of their buildings dwarf ours, but we do have a thicker central cluster. Once 98RR is built out, we're going to be very much in their league.
