Ryan Smith's company Qualtrics built an amazing tower in Seattle, but here they have only a large suburban campus. He has said alot about wanting to out SLC more on the map since he bought Jazz, hopefully he realizes a vibrant urban core would do wonders for that.

I've gotten feedback from multiple sources that that tower set is going to break ground soon.
This is exciting. I would love to see a Hotel Indigo or Intercontinental in SLC eventually.

Yep, I was stopped at the light on 400 S and West Temple and grabbed this pic really quick.

2022 is definitely not the year to go see the lights on Temple Square before Christmas. It wasn't really a good year to go see them in 2021 with half the main street plaza and only a quarter of Temple Square where the Assembly Hall is located lit up. Hopefully, in 2023 we will have the plaza, space on the Church office building block, and north visitor center finished and the lights again.

Atlas linked the images a few pages back. The project is "390 S. West Temple" for now

Agreed. Better yet an Ace or a Nomad. A little bit disappointed that the Hyatt isn't a Grand Hyatt.

They sure did. How are you going to get it out once the construction is done?

West Quarter

I was walking by the West Quarter today and was wondering if that Multi-ethnic highrise horror is going to be demolished in the 2nd phase of the project.
I know that people need a place to leave but damn that building is so horribly ugly, (I think it is in the Russian Brutalist style) It is even uglier than Liberty Sky!!!

Has anyone heard any updates as to when they are going to start the cement pours on the Astra? I thought they were going to start last week.

How do you eat an elephant?

Piece by piece, then secondary pours to fill the voids in the parking decks.
