If you scroll up to one of my other comments you'll see the plan where the next phase of Bradley will go with the 1400 homes. I think they will fill the extension in once this subdivision gets going.

And I think that plan shows how they are going around that property owner, if that is indeed the one that was holding it up previously.

Hopefully, I notice that property is still in the way on the other side. Is that going to be torn down, or does the city even own it yet?

That property (the hive I think its called) wont affect it, the extension to White Oak Rd needs to turn slightly there to align.

I found some info showing the Pack / Bostwick / Wonderland extension of Bradley to have construction start in 2026.
https://london.ca/projects/bostwick-road-environmental-assessment

Still nothing I can find regarding the Wharncliffe to White Oak link. Building that would take the strain off of Southdale between Wonderland and White Oak.

According to the City Capital Budget, it's going to be built 2023. While I know they had some environmental issues in the past, not sure what the extension to Wharncliffe has taken so long, or why Bradley was truncated rather than just extended westward? In the budget they have all the land acquisitions completed, just construction costs.

Ok. This extension is needed like right now. I know it gets underway in 2023 and we all better hope it doesn't get delayed any further than this.

Even with Southdale widened, this doesn't address the congestion on White Oak Road. The line up to turn left from White Oak to Southdale is reaching absurd levels and the construction of a Tims here can often impede left turns since you're allowed to turn here as well (no median).

Extending Bradley to Wharncliffe will allow it to operate all the way to Wonderland. This will take strain off White Oak and actually allow the recently widened Southdale to operate properly. Get'er extended to Bostwick as a 2nd, but still high priority.

(If the city was smart, the would have extended Bradley to Bostwick BEFORE starting to widen Southdale west of Wonderland. This gives people an alternate route to take.)

The really pathetic part is the fact they had to do a EA addendum after the fact because they didn't realize the existing part of Bradley east of White Oaks needed to be updated too.

Good grief!

Yeah both directions are equally important to be honest and they have been for years.
Extending to Bostwick will help ease Southdale and Lambeth traffic, it would have been much better to do that stretch before tearing up Southdale for a 1km expansion they are currently doing that will not accomplish nearly as much.

I will say though that in the meantime, it is an easy shortcut through the neighbourhood on Bateman Trail between White Oaks and Wharncliffe, and there is a light at Wharncliiffe.

Makes you think just how many people cut through this neighbourhood due to poor planning.

I have taken that route quite a few times and I would say at least half the traffic is doing the same thing.

I feel this extension will relieve a lot of roads in the area. Like Wharncliffe, Southdale, Wonderland, Exeter, White Oak, and also the neighbourhood off of White Oak Road.

Would be only 1 of a very few routes to go city limit to city limit east to west. Desperately needed.

Good ol' London. Hardly any through-roads. No highways. No mass transit. Think small.

If there's one route I'd wanna see a through-road, and I feel many would disagree, is Adelaide St.

But I would make it a natural street, like Springbank with all the trees, or Colonel Talbot at the hill. Take down as few trees as possible, and have the road surrounded by forest. Something like this:

Have a bridge at the end to bypass the train as well. I feel it's a pipe dream but who knows. With the new Veterans extension, years before they ever planned it, I came up with the exact same idea when I was bored. Curve the road and extend it to Clarke road. Except I would have made the one part of Clarke a dead end, just for the park there or something.

Don't forget that's not exactly a flat piece of land south of Commissioners with the former garbage dump, and I'm not sure how dry and solid it is either. There's more chance of Jammer's pipedream of Ridout being 4 lanes through old south than this happening, with the environmental concerns.
