I submitted a comment that they should open up the Georgia St. side of the courtyard and get rid of the monastic style cloister.

So the driveway will compromise the office development next door?
(or will it be out of order while the office block is built)?
That's a bit sneaky encroaching on the neighbouring parcel like that.

It will be an office development (intended to recoup the value of the land given to the Art Gallery by the City). It was the bus depot from 1947.

There's a CPR tunnel under Beatty? Thought it was just the filled-in part of Stadium-Chinatown.

The original entrance to the Dunsmuir Tunnel was through the escarpment where the Spectrum condos are now
and faced BC Place leading to the North False Creek railyards.
When it was converted for SkyTrain, a new entrance was built facing directly east along the Dunsmuir Viaduct alignment.

Here it is before the current Dunsmuir and Georgia Viaducts were built.
You can see the Beatty St. Drill Hall for reference.

the tunnel still exists. it is like the Canada Post Tunnel to waterfront station, it still exists though that one was filled in with crushed rock. there are other tunnels also still in use downtown though i wont mention them.

Any reason for the concrete dividers getting removed from the parking lot?

Yes, but they're on the office development part of the site, not where the Art Gallery is going.

It seems like the North Van buses have permanently been moved to layover in front of the library on Homer?

So does this reduce the likelihood of increased VAG funding from the Province?

Pretty sure that if they'd decided to host stuff like the Convention Centre's Van Gogh and Michelangelo exhibits instead of whatever the hell these are, they'd have almost all their $400M by now.

LOL, gotta love that caption under the Old West Town exhibit:

"Exhibits on the third floor of Royal BC Museum that have been closed and removed for decolonization"

They should hold a referendum on this one and see how many people want a new museum.

Horgan encouraging people ‘to think before you hop in the car’ amid record-breaking gas prices

so yeah, getting rid of a factual museum exhibit to rewrite history is about par for the course.
