I lived 31 years in the Wasatch Front and never
once knew this theater existed. Who managed this place into the ground?
At minimum, I still would have loved to see a scale replica of this re-built in the base of the new tower, using as many artifacts as possible. Can you imagine how much urban "cred" SLC would have with a legit "PANTAGES" theater, even a replica?
But whatever— another of SLC's
one dozen historic places gone.
The SLC temple project has me concerned. I worry they are butchering the old murals (which we know will be gone) and worry it's going to end up looking as state as Jordan River on the inside when they are done. The lack of ANY interior photos or videos during the project is a huge huge huge alarm bell.
