I just can't imagine how a City with financial problems can actually host a large international event such as Formula-E, especially without Federal backing. Look ma, the viaducts are still standing, albeit in a crumbling state!

Everything that needs financing has to be borne by the event organizer, and this would come down to the nitty gritty items: not much time for all that to be sorted out before the deadline.

Perhaps have the race relocated to Burnaby instead?
