Skyway, except it’s going to be lined with apartments… you won’t even know it’s a viaduct until you hit the tracks.

Here is pic from Mitchel St. Oddly it was COLD/windy and after taking pic as soon as I got my gloves back on it started hailing. What a weird mid April weather day.
I guess they're trying to visually narrow the gulch and turn the bridge into a viaduct. Do we know if they are going to try to do the same along Peters Street with the building planned south of the new Nelson Street bridge? That along with the new Nelson Street bridge would pretty much seam together Castleberry Hill with South Downtown.
They're saying another year now, which I think it wise.
Renovating that building is going to demand very high rents. They won't be able to get them until Centennial Yards is visibly underway and the CY South/Newport retail is open.
I'd rather wait than see them do a mediocre job. Quality costs money.

This site is very complicated. Just behind the building, the rail line diverges, which is why the constitution building is narrow on the west side. They also constructed the East-West MARTA line though there. So any new structure will be a really big deal. They will have to start on either side and meet in the middle at street level. I just learned recently that the CNN Center/Omni mall is similarly cantilevered where the railways diverge on the opposite end of the gulch. The last "corner" of the triangle made by those three rail lines is just northwest of the Russell Federal building.
