That's just the aura of brightness from the rendering. There are a few levels in the last section/crown as well, but it's mechanical.

You can make it out better from the renderings without the lighting. You can make out the top floors of the conference center, which will be at the top of the building.

Shown here, the rendering is so bright you can hardly see it....

Took us forever to get renderings, so I'm reposting some of the images in higher resolution. Eventually we'll get more updated renderings.

I bet that crown lighting will have to be radically scaled back so as not to interfere with migrating birds.

Why? 1 Vanderbilt just down the way has just as bright of lighting as this.

Looks great. Not a fan of the big “diamonds” on the sides though. Looks a bit tacky, imo.

I'd like someone who can photoshop to change the diamonds into x's just to see what it would look like.

Looks too much like the John Hancock Center (forgot what it's now called) too me. I think the bigger issue is that the trapeziod proposal for 350 Park Avenue might detract from this beauty...

Nah I'm sure that's the Sears ^
Lol.
I don't think 350 will take away from 270 any more than 270 takes away from 1 Vandy, or any more than 175 will take away from 270, etc, etc.

Was literally thinking this when I saw the renders yesterday.

270 looks like if the Empire State Building and the Hancock Center had a baby.

Which of course makes it like the greatest building ever.

It really does have that ESB vibe going.

That lobby has a kind of Grand Central vibe going.
