The sun came out. My cat is still cute af. I’m painting every door in my house black. And my father ordered an ash tray (for a wood stove, not a smoker) from a sixth-generation blacksmith whose forge happens to be like three houses up from mine. So I went to pick it up and pay for it. $140. I thought nothing of it. Dad was horrified, I thought he was joking, he thought I was joking.

“Sure b’y I could’ve replaced the stove for that!”
“I suspect if you went shopping you’d find it’s not just the price of ash trays gone up.”
“You’re probably right. Well I feels bad so I’ll have to contribute to that, give ya a twenty tomorrow.”
“Good with me, b’y, loves ya.”
“Loves you too. See ya tomorrow.”

He’ll try to give me the $140, of course, but these opportunities to pay him back are rare so I’m not taking it lol

Such a lovely and flowery description from Sicily.

Splendid. Kissed.

Manitobans may have a different description. They can do a Mad Libs version, replacing the above mentioned words.

For a Sicilian who loves snow, snow is pure poetry :baffo:

11C and cloudy and rainy.

Low of 6C this morning. It was rainy already so the whole day was pretty dark but hey at least it's moisture and things are greening up nicely.

The warmspot was Brockville, ON at 20.6C.

Up to 18.4C in Granby and above 15C in the stations in extreme Southern Quebec.

EDIT:
Despite the cold April so far, it's now that time of the year where the Great Lakes are not doing you favors.

April mean so far:

Montreal: 5.4C
Toronto: 6.2C
Windsor: 6.3C

We are now in catch up mode and Montreal will be warmer than Toronto by the end of the month.

Is that because Lake Ontario is cooler than the land by late April and keeps the areas close to Lake Ontario cooler than Montreal which really doesn't have a large water body to influence temperatures. If that is the case, doesn't Lake Ontario keep temps 'warmer' at night?

Sunny and 3 degrees at just before 10am. High of around 7 expected, but with virtually no wind at all today I'm curious if a seabreeze develop later today which would keep temperatures in St. John's in the 2-3 degree range while allowing the inland suburbs like Mount Pearl and Paradise to warm up.

Winds are currently out of the NW which is fine for us. Anything from the NE/E/SE will keep the city from heating up today.

Cloudy and +6C in Moncton at 10 AM, only getting up to +9C later this afternoon with periods of rain.

Correct, April sun and getting stronger so it's easier to warm up especially away from large water bodies. Water temp are below 10C at this time of the year so that is limiting the heating.

It's closer at night but Montreal being an island helps because it somewhat traps the heat. Urban heat also helps. A big proof of that is that the growing season in Toronto and Montreal is of equal length.

No seabreeze despite the calm winds. High ended up reaching 7 at my neighbourhood station.

There are areas in Southern ON that are in-land that aren't as affected by the cold Great Lakes. Toronto remains very cool in the spring anytime the wind is from the E, or SE. But if you go 30-50KM inland, that effect is irrelevant.

14C and mainly. It was breezy during the whole day. Especially late this afternoon, wind really picked up gusting up to 90 km/h. Just heard some thunder, it's pouring outside.

Low of 4C this morning.

The warmspot was Sainte-Clotilde, QC at 15.9C

Such cold weather here in Victoria. We actually had frost this morning. It warmed up to 11 degrees by late afternoon but definitely cold spring weather.
I took this photo of an old Ford Courier tonight that I saw while doing an estimate.

I hope everyone has a great Easter Weekend.

Already 12C in Moncton at 9 AM and sunny. It will cloud over later this morning with showers, and, as such, our expected daily high will be 14C.

Cloudy, some fog, and 4 degrees at just after 11am. Expected to get up to 13 this afternoon, with clearing skies.

It’s basically perfect. So strange after such a shit morning. The clocktower downtown was showing 18C. I’m sure it’s less than that but gorgeous!

Thank's to our on the ground reporter from Sicily about the Manitoba Spring Storm.
If it wasn't for posters outside of Manitoba, we may never have heard about the storm.

here's a time lapse of the storm in Winnipeg.

Still below normal weather in BC interior, we've had below freezing temperatures almost every night this last week.

They'll all come out of the wood work on the first day of above average temperatures.
