Yeah, in those last photos the building was at floor level 8, steel level 10. It should be topped out sometime next year...............

I don't see how this won't be over 1,000' within a year. It seems like they did the hardest part, and the tower gets smaller as it rises.

I wonder what is special about that rather shiny piece of steel. It seems like it might be galvanized.

Maybe it will be exposed and they want it to look pretty.

This building is definitely going to be used as a case study in so many structures classes.

lets take a look at a headline in the news just today.

https://commercialobserver.com/2022/04/facebook-leaser-770-broadway-vornado-realty-trust/

Facebook Expands by 300K SF at 770 Broadway

Facebook being one of the major tenants at Hudson Yards. This is their original Manhattan office. They now own 2.3M SF in Manhattan between Hudson Yards (1.5M SF) and this building (800k SF).

270 Park doesnt need to worry about finding tenants as Chase plans to consolidate over 10,000 of its own employees here.

Yes they are, but east Midtown is in the process of becoming home for newer (the best) office space as well. JPMC flirted with the idea of moving to the Hudson Yards and even Downtown. But two things worked in their favor here - they already owned a huge site, and rezoning made it possible to put a much larger tower on site.

Just want to point out that while we've (rightfully) been focused on the above ground activity, just below the rising steel, the finishing touches are being placed on the new LIRR concourse that opens the end of this year.

270 Park Avenue sits in between two of the elevator wells that feed up from the tracks to the concourse level. This is very big for New York and midtown east.
