Looks like he's refiling for a temporary restraining order soon, if not yesterday. (Save the Utah Pantages Theater)

Just as a reminder, his last motion for a TRO was denied by the judge due to "glaring" legal errors, in part because he was suing city officials, rather than Hines. (The Salt Lake Tribune)

The only thing I can think of that was directly across 700 South would be the women's homeless shelter, which was completed a couple years ago.

Food Alley is (was?) supposed to be on the same block as the 150 E. project. I haven't heard anything really regarding that project in a long time.

Across State Street to the west is the land IHC bought up.

That is all I can think of. Anyone else know anything?

I live right around the corner from those two buildings (and can't wait for them to be replaced with more housing) and my guess would be it is referring to the Sears block redevelopment by IHC. But there is another abandoned building on State Street next door to the Women's Shelter that I think is likely to see redevelopment sooner than later. With the new Trax station opening nearby, I expect this pocket of town is the next to see major changes.

These are going in directly north of where I live. The McKay Parachute Repair has been unused for a long while, and the used furniture store has been closed for about 6 years.

Thanks, Blah_Amazing. I was looking at it on Google Earth. That particular shot directly across the street was probably a couple of years or more old when Okland had just begun construction on the women's shelter.

An interesting bit of information about the office tower surfaced in a similar KSL article. It was mentioned that 95 State is currently 25% leased with an additional 50% under discussion. Also mentioned pre-pandemic interest in the tower was very high, but is still on track to reach it's original goal of fully leased in 24 months.

This is good news for future office towers.

They were really close to moving forward with a plan prior to the owner of the property passing away. They even evicted all the tenants along 100s. They have since been re leased… so that clearly isn’t happening any more.

We were looking for and investment property and over the fire place the owner had the same painting as the image of your avatar. I know I should have immediately thought of Ghostbusters but I spent the entire day trying to remember who I had seen using it before. I know I got too excited seeing you post but I couldn’t remember and it was driving me insane

Anyways. I think the owner or resident was trying to dissuade people from purchasing. I thought it’s was funny

An owner told me they were in talks on a vertical JV partner, which is the only way that building will be built. They don't need the retail on 100 S. to build a tower and the corner hold-out building is still an issue. Also a tower will be in planning for at least 2-3 years, not sure how long the leases are for on the 100 S. retail but anything is still a ways out.

I try not to read too much into things like this. Often the shiny new tower attracts tenants that vacate other towers. Wells Fargo Center, for example, is hurting because tenants want to be in the new buildings like 111 Main and 95 State. Overall downtown absorption is probably still fairly anemic, but hopefully will look better as we emerge from the pandemic.
