-J-Crew is moving to where Talbots was.
-Vans is reopening where the current State & Liberty is
-The redevelopement of the 3 empty lots should hopefully happen soon
-The old Wells Fargo building is being redeveloped

Soooo, that will leave what - 4 vacancies on this block not including the empty lot? The space Madewell is vacating, a redeveloped 1712 Walnut where Wells Fargo was, the old Ann Taylor space and the old Aldo space. All 4 of these spaces should be filled pretty quickly.
Any idea of what’s going into the old Wells Fargo? It looks like they’re redoing all three floors.

I also completely forgot about Brooklinen. They're going where the Aldo was.... so that leaves 3 vacancies on the 1700 block of Walnut. That's pretty impressive. Faherty is going to the old Cole Haan space on the 1600 block.

We haven't heard about what's going into the old Wells Fargo yet, but something is certainly happening. We don't hear about tenants until negotiations are done and leases are finalized. During negotiations, everything is kept pretty tight-lipped.

"More deals are in the works. Cooper said he is in negotiations on leases for several spaces including the former Wells Fargo branch at 1712 Walnut St., and the former Free People space at 1625 Walnut St. We went from Walnut having more vacancy to now all of a sudden there’s not much space available.”

Just walked down Chestnut. Looks like there’s a new store called 2nd Street Clothing that’s going into the old Indochino spot at 1606 Chestnut. It looks like it’s a second hand store. Sounds disappointing at first right? BUT it looks like there’s one in Noho on Broadway in NYC. Apparently, it’s more of a trendy, somewhat high end consignment shop popular with the the kids (college/20’s). It’s a small update but I’ll take it. At least it’s New Yorky lol.

I'm fine with it! Buffalo Exchange is a consignment store on the 1500 block of Chestnut and that place is always buzzing. My wife and I sell our old clothes there from time to time.

Also, didn't Green Street have a spot on the 1700 block of Chestnut where the Grace Love Lace is now? That's a consignment shop and they have one in Chestnut Hill and one in Bella Vista on South Street.

Don’t let facts get in the way of a good complaint…

Yeah, they have good stuff and some of some of them can be kinda snooty. I went to one where they rejected a coat that I had paid a decent amount of money for. I kinda felt like my fashion sense was being judged lol.

Yes, this parking lot of Sam Rappaport infamy. The addresses are 417-421 S Broad on Atlas and looks like it includes the Watts parcels. It's zoned CMX-4 but with the small size of this lot, I'm not sure how tall you could go here

Ha! Take it back another time. A lot of the time they'll only take things they need. We get stuff rejected by Buffalo Exchange all of the time that they'll take next time we bring it back....

Sweet! Hopefully whomever bought this lot buys those two dumpy rows to the left as well. They're not that great nor worth saving. Demolishing those would make this lot more rectangular. Plus, on South Broad, I would imagine a developer wouldn't have an issue getting a variance granted to go taller if need be.

Maybe it was Dranoff? He has an in with Sam Rappaport.

Doing some Photography work for one of my clients and I was able to enjoy the luxuries of probably one of the best Hotels Ive ever been to.

They actually beat the W which I thought was already at a high spot on the list after being to the one in NYC By the WTC.

Beautiful views and built very well I'm happy we have this in Philly and I know we will even better going into the future.

Also after using the services of the hotel such as the sauna and steam room I thought to myself that every person should experience this weekly and to my surprise after looking on the internet to see if they have memberships for the pool/spa/fitness they sure do.

You gotta call for the price tho their tag line

"We can arrange virtually anything."

those are really cool, thanks for sharing. I remember those heady days when the skyline was beginning to take the shape it has now.
here's a research project if you were inclined to undertake one; right around the time these buildings were under construction, toward the end of 1988 I believe, there was a proposal for a World Trade Center building, just north of the ben franklin bridge. It was supposed to be over 1,000 feet tall, with a huge communications "globe" on the top of the building. I did some digging and was able to find an article in the inky about it (Nov 1988? I can't remember and can't put my hands on it right now), but could not find the rendering or any images of the proposed building. that would be a cool thing to find and share with the group. I've tried but haven't been able to come up with it.

Hahahah well damn.... you were right.

We did still lose some nice spots which is sad. Intermix, Stuart Weitzman, Williams Sonoma, Barbour, Club Monaco... etc... but, it's nice new retailers seem to be filling the void pretty quickly.
