I don't get it. The rendering shows a trenched station, yet it looks like a cut and cover tunnel in the drone shot.

Also, the rendering shows "2 Ottawa" on the train. Line 2 doesn't go anywhere close to Lincoln Fields.

The "2 Ottawa" probably stands for "Stage 2, Ottawa". We can never read too much into the trains in renderings and what the displays say. I mean, Trillium renderings showed Alstom Citadis Spirits at stations, sooo...

Why do you thing the drone footage shows a cut-and-cover tunnel? Cut-and-cover starts out as a trench before it's covered. At this point, the Byron cut-and-cover tunnel construction stops a few hundred meters from LF station, which is being built stand-alone at the moment.

I can understand that. The concourse makes it look like a tunnel underneath. The snow amplifies the illusion.

Great news! We have completed excavating more than 50% of the Stage 2 LRT tunnel under Byron Linear Park. Most of the excavation is expected to be completed by end of year. Once complete, crews will begin covering the tunnel! #Stage2MajorProgress

Took these photos yesterday along the Byron tunnel at New Orchard. With the acoustic padding removed from the fencing, it's easier to see the progress on the tunnel walls. It looks bomb-proof with the amount of rebar and the thickness of the concrete.

Its quite amazing how far-along Lincoln Fields Station is given when Confed. Line West extension is supposed to open.

I had the same thought. Progress at Algonquin is quite similar as well. Steel along Line 2 started around the same time as LF. Meanwhile in the east, set to open a year earlier then the west, steel work on Montreal has just started.

Sure LF and Algonguin are advanced compared to some East side stations but some West Stations (westboro, Dominion, Cleary, Sherborne, Bayshore...) have not even started.

That sums up pretty much all public sessions, be it this or development proposals. The presenter clearly lays out the plan, and it's followed by half a dozen people asking the same question over and over, a question that was clearly answered in the initial presentation.

Not sure if it's just me, but I found the presenter to be speaking as if he was explaining the project to a bunch of children. That briefing could have been wrapped-up in less than 30 minutes!
