here's the MSA data, straight from the Census 2020 P2 file:

Detroit MSA: 4,392,041

Hispanic or Latino: 219,953

219,953 / 4,392,041 = 5.0%

I see that now lol. Clearly, Metro Detroit doesn't have only 600,000 people.
