I might point out that since the 1960's architects have been copy/pasting their buildings onto the Ottawa skyline, this is nothing new. The difference in these older buildings is that the cladding is different, so it's not so obvious that two identical building structures were constructed. (60 Queen and 270 Albert (and elsewhere), fun fact

)

NOW the cladding is re-used to save cost on bulk orders, but the structure slightly changes.

Unless you're Soho, then it's just the exactly identical building in all ways (Soho Parkdale and Soho Lisgar)

Up to floor #6! Also glad to see the West corner is angled pass the podium and not squared! I thought from the renderings it was going to be a boring rectangle tower with 4 squared corners. Sometimes its those little things that can make a difference IMO

Man the things that excite us about Claridge projects....it's sad. But yes I'm also glad to see an angle on a Claridge project. I just wish we'd get more of Neuf's better work in Ottawa. They have done a lot of amazing projects in MTL, but we get Claridge Royale/Moon and Andaz and Petrie Island. Performance Court is interesting at least, and the Donalda-Charron library in the Plateau is a masterpiece, but as soon as they get in cahoots with Claridge or Brigil it's just blah.

I know we complain a lot about claridge on here but some of their recent project arent that bad actually. I really like Loop and the first phase of Lebreton as well as Tribeca. the one i hate with a passion is Onyx and my hope arent high for Royale but Moon I think will turn out ok and i think the next lebreton phase for claridge has good potential. Montreal has plenty of horrible projects too. La Tour des Canadiens phase 1 is a horrible Black and Beige box for example.

They collaborated with Atelier TAG on that project. Not sure if there was a lead on the project or what the nature of the collaboration was but Atelier TAG is the firm with the design bonafides so I wouldn't be surprised if they led that project.

I despise Loop, Current/Future Lebreton, I think Moon is looking pretty damned shitty, and yes Onyx is the worst. Tribeca is ok for me.

Taste is subjective, however. To each their own!

Let's see how Royale turns out.

I agree. Tribeca is good and one of their better projects. All the the other ones listed or under construction are are let-down for me (in terms of massing, design and colours/materials.. esp. since they're all basically the same).

Its literally a black and beige box like Loop but without the funky curvy balcony and with zero angles. its everything you dont like about Claridge

Read carefully. I also don't mind Envie in Little Italy in Ottawa because it provides contrast to everything else going up in the area, although I'd hate it if it was by itself. Same sort of deal with TDC1.

Then in that context doesn't Claridge Moon provide contrast when surrounded by Minto and Delta (Concrete), confederation square and future 400 Albert (Glass) and the Hilton and 151 Bay street (Red Brick)?

Its gone up 2 more floors but thats about it

Only working on the 8th floors of the front towers and they were at 6th on March 8th. It was dark but it looked like the back tower was a floor or two less as I drove by.

Agree 100%. Hopefully this street frontage is lit up nicely, and more cool in any measurable way than CP 1 2 3 & 4.
