Now that we have those two out of the way, let's get on with it!! I'm sure APM is glad to see those monkeys off their back. Probably not the last time though.
There should need to be a petition of a certain amount of names for IRAC to proceed with any appeal. It’s foolish to me that any one person can appeal any project they’d like.

OR, if the same individuals keep appealing and losing, they should be banned from filing an appeal without good justification, such as a project is on your street or the project affects a business you own.

Agreed. You should have to live2 within a reasonable distance from the project. Like 1-2KM maybe.

This IRAC thing is totally asinine. When an appeal is filed, there is no charge to the appellant but they charge the
developer $500. How crazy is that!! It should be the other way around!!!
Also, when your city turns down a developers proposal, and it is dropped or canceled, and if there is an IRAC appeal filed by one
appellant, the appeal is still allowed to proceed even if the project is canceled. How is that for stupid!!! This is exactly what is happening to the Porthouse project which is now stalled but the appeal is still a go. Democracy at its best!!

Not a fan of these grey panels they've added.

After the apartment is torn down, this will be interesting, four stories on the corner and a lawyer next door. It should stir-up lots of opposition!!

Planning & Heritage Department encourages Planning Board to recommend to Council to advance the rezoning request for 1B Palmers Lane to public consultation.

Just an Islander. I heard through the grapevine that Mary Maids is moving where Paul's flowers were. Anyone else hear this.

I think they talked about building some restaurants in the parking lot. I imagine one next to Superstore and Boston Pizza and one next to the main entrance to the parking lot would be the most logical places. I don’t know how to access their leasing map anymore so I can’t confirm.

I know Wendy's and Tim's are moving over by the mall for better parking and safer access to a better traffic flow. Not sure what is going to replace the Bank of Montreal when they move out as that end of the mall to me is dull.

I don’t know why a cleaning business would setup shop in a commercial area…wouldn’t they be better served by a building in an industrial park? More space, loading bays, etc?

Oh right you’re correct, I do remember seeing that on here. There is plenty of space in the parking area though. Maybe Eastside Mario’s would do good over near winners in the parking lot. It would have synergy with the Cineplex like in Moncton.

The cinema parking lot, along Spencer Drive, I think you’ll see apartments go up in a few years. I’ve seen some drawings that show that. I’m not sure if that happens how much space would be left for a restaurant, seeing how there’s still a need for parking.

I would love to see Eastside Mario’s make a return here. It did well, but Murphy’s Hospitality Group has been dropping his franchises in favour for his own brands.

Only one letter of opposition. The concerns have already been met by the developer. Looks like it's a go with the following being the only things needed to proceed:

Recommended to Council for approval, subject the following conditions:
MOTION CARRIED (8-0)
• Traffic study and a Watershed management plan being provided prior to a building permit being issued; and
• Signing of a Development Agreement.

Yes Merry Maids is moving to Paul's Flowers. So my coworker sister owns Merry Maids. Her boy friend or husband owns Little Ceasars pizza and from what I was told they are also moving into the Pauls Flowers building. When APM bought their portion of the mall the Little Ceasars building was part of it and the rent is going up a fair bit so they decided to put both of their business's in the same building.

I’m sort of left wondering what the long term plan is for this land, because this buildings footprint doesn’t touch the footprint of the current motel. There were some site drawings posted on here a month or two back that clearly show the two footprints individual of each other. Either way, nice to see some housing moving forward.
