That shot is amazing.

FYI the major background skylines are Metrotown (Burnaby) and surprisingly Surrey, which is really starting to grow now.

Here's a wider shot by Anthony Maw that includes the Brentwood/Gilmore skyline on the far left. Lougheed skyline is out of the picture further to the left.

Between Metrotown and Surrey skylines I think you can see the New Westminster skyline.

Even this wider shot shows only a slice of the Metro Vancouver skylines.

Jesus those photos are unreal, this good deserves a prize lol.. Unbelievable captures, seeing all of those nodes in a shot is pretty amazing. While people love to accuse Vancouver of being small time because of no super talls, they really can't argue with the density clusters. Also probably a result of having so many cities within Metro Van, they all want their share. Whereas in giant cities without multiple municioalities, you get a very centralized density structure (like Calgary)

The skylines are great and all but the real star of those photos is the GIGANTIC Cascade volcano looming in the background … Spectacular.

Vancouver is undeniably one of the world's most beautiful cities...even with the barge on the beach. Is that barge going anywhere soon?

Not soon but eventually.

I believe they've given up on the idea of refloating it because it would just be too difficult and dangerous.

So, it's going to be cut up and demolished. Work should get started this spring.

It's taking some time to get all the permits from various agencies to get it all going.
Lots of things to consider like environmental, marine traffic, liability and overall logistics.
It's going to be a huge operation that will take months.

Marge the Barge has been regarded with some affection by locals and she will be missed by some.
When she is gone I think it will be a visual symbol of us finally getting past recent difficulties like the catastrophic weather and the pandemic.
