It isn't totally clear, but it appears that parent company TUI will retain ownership of all the resorts (I can't confirm, but I suspect it is TUI that actually owns the resorts you named, and gives Sunwing exclusive access). WestJet is only acquiring Sunwing Airlines and Sunwing Vacations (the tour operator that sells vacation packages, similar to WestJet Vacations). I doubt if they want to get into the resort business, though this deal may give WestJet Vacations access to all of TUI's resorts.

Currently TUI owns 49% of Sunwing Travel Group (parent company of Sunwing) AFAIK

Look at the brands:

Yes. That is the largest share a single foreign entity is allowed to own. While they don't have a majority share, they are the largest shareholder, so are considered the owners.

Thanks for the info!

I also noticed that AC344/345 (YVR-YOW-YVR) is also operating today with the B38M

Because in Ontario,Canada spring break 2022 holidays is upcoming next Monday, March 14 to Friday, March 18.

Maybe some people are choosing to go on their family spring break holiday trip earlier!

Also British Columbia’s school spring break holidays is 2 week break from March 14-25 2022.

Not sure. I also noticed that there was a second YYC-YOW this morning on AC354. Flown by an A320 that is then doing the YOW-FLL run. Perhaps this example is getting the plane here for the FLL run, but also selling tickets on the route.

Not sure about today's B789 and the B38M on the YVR route though.

Today's departure count: 35

Whatever the reason for yesterday's extra YVR capacity (large group perhaps?), it's back to the current normal today.

Today's highlight is an CC-150 scheduled to arrive at 1632 from interestingly SHV - Shreveport, LA. The planned departure is at 1730 back to YTR base.

The same YTR-SHV-YOW-YTR flight happened yesterday as well.

Not sure what that's all about, but there is an Air Force Base in Shreveport. Always nice to see the CC-150 cycling through YOW though. Trudeau should be coming back from Europe on one soon too. CFC1 went to London Stansted on Sunday.

At the risk of removing some level of anonymity... I will confess I moved from an Aerospace company in Ottawa, to work at it's Headquarters in Phoenix

I've been on that plane many times

That's awesome! I really like the new livery on it as oppose to the old one that was very plain (plane). Really unique aircraft, that's for sure!

Yeah... I really like the new livery and agree it's quite unique. Inside it's high-tech (cough) and comfortable (really).

Pilots LOVE flying this plane, basically an empty 757.. really kicks —
