There are only 10 councilors and 1 mayor. By your math the absolute maximum that can be represented is 50%, and we're at 40%.. pretty close. Not sure how "non profit component" means anything in the context of where somebody lives.

Qualify?? It’s not about qualifying. It’s what it is. It’s the city that came up with them. And it’s not 20. I said
More than 20. So actually “my Math” is just fine actually, and is exactly as mentioned. So wrong again.
Finally, work in the non-profit doesn’t mean anything with population. But then again, nobody made that connection, except you apparently.
Why does it matter? Because it’s the same homogenous group that always ends up in city hall. Outsiders of that cabal rarely break through. So when people say “people don’t like a particular policy,” they actually mean only a small group and by no means the majority of Vancouver or it’s citizens. It also clearly demonstrates what one needs to be involved in to get ahead politically in this city so when people made ridiculous statements like “why don’t you run for office” they need to realize it’s not that simple
