Pretty sure those "donations" by Elon never happened. Incidentally, that's NOT a Penn publication--I found it when I first searched after initially reading your comment about his supposed large donations. And again to my knowledge, there's been no other coverage or announcement, including by Penn, of any large donations by Elon--other than his own presence, of course. And something tells me that Elon isn't one to be making any large anonymous donations.

This is the most recent design I believe:

The surrounding neighborhood is also just called “Clark Park” sometimes.

Cool project and video but you'd think they have some sort of nod to a railcar somewhere in there. It would be cool to have the shell of an old M3 as a coffee bar or something:

Budd M3

Only two M3 Almond Joys survive. Both are in museums.

How about an actual dining car? Think of the irony!

Handsome building. Some planters or shrubbery would be nice though, (maybe forthcoming).

Unlikely either will ever run again. All other El equipment has also been lost

I take every ranking for anything with a grain of salt, but a new report about the 2026 World Cup potential host cities. Philadelphia is #11 of 17. While it might not seem great, Philadelphia ranks higher than Boston and DC (last), so maybe a NYC & PHL duo for the Northeast.

I share this because 2026 is a big year for Philadelphia (and America), hosting these games would be huge for the region.

Here's where Philadelphia ranks in potential 2026 World Cup host cities, study shows

I knew when they built the Linc that they had built it with too small of a seating capacity. how short-sighted. if one of the justifications for building the "new" stadium was so that it could host World Cup games, they should have added more seats to increase their chances. it's not like those additional seats would go empty for Eagles games. they should have gone to 75-80k. of course that's not the only factor hurting us, but it is one they had some control over when they built the stadium.
if we miss out on the world cup, that is going to be a huge black eye. we missed out on the last world cup the US hosted in 1994 because of a lack of a suitable stadium, and that was a huge black eye for the city that they vowed would not be an issue if and when the US ever hosted another world cup. well here we are....
one major factor that could work in our favor is that Comcast is hq'd here, and they might be able to exert some influence. But who knows.

Not sure if it’s just me, but Center City feels a touch cleaner as of last week. I also noticed there seemed to be less homeless around. Perhaps, city services did a major sweep?

I know these things seem to ebb and flow, but was definitely feeling god vibes.

Feels the same. Been quite lively over the last year or so if you’ve been out. Definitely gaining momentum to surpass pre pandemic feels. Things are (not surprisingly) exaggerated in terms of never returning to “normal”

Thank you for bringing this up I remembered something that I've been observing outside lately.

Ever since the plastic bag ban I haven't seen any bags flying in the air or on the streets.

I have to say that was the most instant effect of something being banned I've ever seen in my life.

Also to account for the cleanliness of the city from being out all week an weekend I can say the city is about 95% back to what it was prior covid, everything was bustling and busy like it never left.

I live, work, and play in Center City, everyday. It feels about the same as it has for the last decade or so.

I'm in center city a lot less frequently because I rarely go into office, when I am it's still felt slightly less busy than usual. I went into the office last week on Wednesday and it was pretty crowded but it felt less busy than it usually would on a beautiful day in February that touched 70 degrees.

In my neighborhood though and around the Italian market area, I feel like it's busier than it's ever been before.
