You can turn off the landmark sites, and historic district boundaries in the "Layers" panel. That makes it pretty easy to see the D-1/2/3/4 zone regions (all various shades of pink/maroon).

Looks like the identical shape of the Marriott here in L.A. I have no complaints about the upcoming towers but I would like to see some curved shaping along that line in SLC. Also, the Los Angeles Wilshire Grand would be a good example to take cues from.

That's a nice tower for Omaha, albeit the design is not very original. Seems kinda "last century" tbh, though I would take it in a heartbeat for SLC. I wish Zions Bank or someone would build a trophy tower like that.

I'd prefer to see something more interesting and iconic like Calgary's Telus Sky or Austin's Block 185 for SLC:

I guess the Sundial Tower was a chance to have something like that but its east-west girth really detracts from the design, in my opinion.

^^^ Nice work Orlando! I agree it's time for a 500' tower, only being 50' taller than Kensington I honestly think SLC could pull off a 600' tower in that location. I like the styles presented in the above posts. I really think downtown is in need of something thats tall, slender, has curves, interesting lines, or an interesting top.

Why is that area so damn bland? I'm very disappointed with the development on that entire block. It's drab and ugly.

I like CINQ but otherwise I agree that everything else on that block is bland. At least Alta Gateway has a midblock walkway, I guess.

I absolutely agree. A lot of boring, copy-and-paste apartments. We're also losing out on a lot of height in that area. That would be a good place for at LEAST 7-8 story towers, if not 10+. That would really bring the activity and nightlife to the area that I think we all know it could be.
