OSTRAVA | Ostrava Towers | 580 + ? FT | FLOORS

https://www.archpaper.com/2022/02/ostrava-tower-tallest-czech-republic-revealed/

"Ostrava sits on the border of Poland at the center of the Moravian-Silesian metropolitan region, which is home to nearly one million. Once Ostrava Tower is complete in 2027, the building will be visible from across the city, helping both fill a vacant gap in the urban core and serve as an entrance to the business and entertainment areas.
Subtly shaped like an X, the 56-story, 771-foot-tall tower is the latest piece of urban infill for Ostrava, as industrial lots have given way to new residential and cultural buildings such as Steven Holl’s 2019 concert hall. Inside the 1.05-million-square-foot tower, CHK has alternated public and private programming across alternating floors"

New Design:

Preparations for the Ostrava skyscraper near Karolina continue. When will construction begin?

Quote:
From the beginning, Ostrava Towers Complex has had the ambition to become the tallest building in the Czech Republic. The taller, residential tower will reach 177 meters and will offer timeless and high-quality housing. The second, lower tower will be commercial and is expected to include offices, congress halls and a luxury hotel with a wellness center and restaurant. A new promenade with shops and services will be created on the ground floor of both towers, connecting their ground floors into one lively urban space.

A significant part of the preparations is also a new transport concept in the vicinity of the Frýdlant Bridges. According to the proposal, part of the transit traffic will be routed through an underground tunnel, freeing up space on the surface for a new pedestrian boulevard and cycle path. This change will significantly calm traffic in the area and offer residents a safe space to move around. The investor's next meeting with city experts will take place in January 2026.

The construction of the Ostrava Towers Complex is planned to begin in 2029, with completion and start of operations expected by 2032.
