Sorry I don't know how to post images, but saw these images on Twitter of the interior of the Carriage Works Apartments at 216 Princess:

At the risk of eliciting more angry responses from people who don't like it when I post articles from the Globe about Winnipeg property, here is what I think is an interesting article that discusses the Pumphouse development, and the Masonic Temple, and the role Centreventure has played in development in the Exchange.

Looks great! Just waiting for a tenant?

This one turned out well, despite the infamous mishap.

Nothing special, but nice infill.

No question the previous building looked great. It's unfortunate that the accident that led to the demolition of the previous building happened, but as a replacement this building is a good consolation prize. Still has a narrow frontage instead of the usual Winnipeg habit of replacing a strip of narrow buildings with one monstrously wide groundscraper, has a nice contemporary look that still meshes well with its surroundings, adds a bit of height and density without being out of character... it's not flashy, but it's still a winner.

I like it as well. The lines and proportion work for me. It will add double the density of the Scott Bldg and some vitality to the neighbourhood. The coffee shop will be a draw. I’m more partial to a GREAT 7 than a Prissy 8!

I agree that the old Scott Hall was irreplaceable, but I have seen far more uninspiring new builds in the Exchange.

If the new building was built on an empty lot, everyone would be applauding its design.

Last I heard, this one was becoming apartments, similar to the building behind it. Good on them for putting the effort in for the area, but the son who runs the property part of the company is a very scummy landlord.

This may be a repeat, but the parking lot at 245 Princess Street is for sale as 'vacant land':https://www.realtor.ca/real-estate/23239477/245-princess-street-winnipeg. Let's hope something gets built here, great spot with all the momentum in the area.

I took a glance and it doesn't seem to suggest any new directions, basically calls for The Exchange to keep on keepin' on. Which isn't a bad thing.

The most interesting new element that I saw was a plan to redevelop the Alexander Docks which is overdue IMO.

Does this plan encompass a larger area than whatever existed before? It's good to see that some of the big parking lots along the southern edge of the Exchange (including the crooked-— Calvary Temple lots) fall under whatever they're coming up with.

The boundaries look roughly the same to me as before, if there are any changes they would be pretty minor. Although I do find it peculiar that the NW corner of Princess and Alexander is excluded from the official Exchange District zone. I would consider this building (the Bathgate Block) and its neighbours to the west to be part of the Exchange...

Great, yet another plan that no one will take action with (due to the lack of $$$ and civic leadership) and quickly be forgotten.
