In fact it would connect to Cumberland at HSC and there would be a possibility to run a direct transit line from Canada Life Centre to the Airport. You can get additional stops at DMCI, Central Park, Sargent Park, and Superstore at Polo. Looking to the transit master plan it would also be a perfect extension of the Donald Route. There’s even space for high density infill near Garbage Hill. So much opportunity for revitalization and development.

This has been a dream of mine for a long time, just without the reconnecting Wellington part. I'd
disconnect Cumberland, make AT and tramway only. Turn Notre Dame back into a two-way street. (I'd also like a branch running up the avenue section of Notre Dame, out to RRC, to reduce the vehicular traffic coming into the city. This would probably actually be the basis for the Wellington-Airport branch.)
All the rest though, yeah. Westpoint park should be a jewel. Building a light rail overpass would be a good excuse to cap over the freight lines and spruce up the park a bit, plus upzone the dumpy areas to the south and west.
