It will be a shame to lose two good old brick buildings to a rather uninspiring hotel.

I'm also very sorry to see the existing buildings go, but I am glad to see that at least the design review process is creating a better outcome. The ground floor plan is a much better response to the weird Green Loop setback in the zoning code, and the facade materials are much higher quality than originally proposed. I hope that the hotel at least brings some activation to the N Park Blocks, which badly need it.

That is true with all of those things, it's not a bad building after the design review process, just wish it didn't have to bring down two good buildings when there is a half block surface lot across the park from this building proposal. It makes me wish there was something in place that made it easier for parking lots to get developed over existing buildings.

Pre-Application Conference for 1330 NW 14th Ave (NW 14th & Pettygrove):

A nice crop of developments coming to the Pearl if these all come through. Well, except the Choice Cambria...Although additional users of the North Park Blocks will be welcome.
