As it gets closer to being finished, I think the choice of silver mullions is almost more egregious than the balcony fiasco. From afar the balconies don't look too bad, but the combo of silver mullions and dark spandrel looks pretty terrible. IMO dark mullions (plus the original translucent lit crown) could've potentially salvaged this building..

it's interesting seeing comments like that because it's all a matter of perspective. I've always found Toronto to be depressing.. it's all just a matter of opinion.. it's all about the vibe it gives off. I think Kitchener is actually really starting to look good now. vast improvement.

I agree the facade is a bit too grey. The curved scoops of balconies are supposed to be clad in wood, which will help add some nice contrast. Hopefully since wood is Kengo Kuma's signature it won't be value engineered out of the final product.
