^Toronto looks like Kitchener from that angle: depressing.

I forgot to resize this image, but here's a photo I took a week ago of an affordable housing project in downtown Simcoe, Ontario: Dogwood Suites (developed by a Christian charity.)

Vogue Residences on the left; 128 King St North, Waterloo on the right

Waterloo is looking very ugly
Meanwhile before the snowstorm yesterday morning, Mirvish Village looking rather grim: like a vertical version of the High Park ghetto I used to live in

similar materials: white/grey precast and black/grey precast brick panels

Which war-torn countries will its tenants come from c.2070s?

One Bloor West

8 Cumberland

Looking forward to seeing the brick go up this Spring at 7 Dale

(With the really cheap looking "The Rosedale" in the background.)

Dow's Lake towers u/c, including Icon (45 fl), SoHo Italia (30 fl) and a more modest tower (14 fl) across the Trillium Line on Champagne Avenue.

IMO dark mullions (plus the original translucent lit crown) could've potentially salvaged this building..

1550 Alberni

Hmm.

Sexy body but, I'm not fond of the designer gown in those pictures. It's a little grey.

it's interesting seeing comments like that because it's all a matter of perspective. I've always found Toronto to be depressing.. it's all just a matter of opinion.. it's all about the vibe it gives off. I think Kitchener is actually really starting to look good now. vast improvement.

1550 Alberni, in Vancouver is one sweet tower!!!

I agree the facade is a bit too grey. The curved scoops of balconies are supposed to be clad in wood, which will help add some nice contrast. Hopefully since wood is Kengo Kuma's signature it won't be value engineered out of the final product.
