Just announced Facebook is taking all (or like 99%) of the office space here. 19 floors and the outdoor space.

I saw it from the turn lane at South Congress & Stassney in south Austin last week for the first time. It's really going to stand out there. On another note, I can see the top (white light) of The Austonian from the end of my driveway. It's a seasonal view as the trees lose their leaves. If the west side of downtown ever gets a supertall, somewhere in the area of 1,100 feet, I wouldn't be surprised if it towered over the trees in the middle of our street.

Months of speculation have come to an end as California-based Meta Platforms Inc. — the parent company of Facebook — recently leased the entire commercial half of Sixth and Guadalupe, the 66-story high-rise under construction that will be Austin's tallest building when finished.

Meta confirmed to Austin Business Journal that it leased 589,000 square feet of office space across 33 floors at Sixth and Guadalupe, located downtown at 400 W. Sixth St. The lease was signed Dec. 31.

So, with this lease agreement, how many RSF does Facebook/Meta have in Austin now? It's gotta be closing in (or surpassing) 1 million. The article said they are not going to get rid of of (sublease) any of their other offices.

After adding this lease, between downtown and the Domain, it will easily be over 1 million.

Gorgeous photos in this thread. I can now see this one peeking through the trees at the end of our driveway. I posted last week that I can see the bright lights on the Austonian. I knew I was seeing something downtown through there. I say that because we also have a view of South Austin Medical Center from the end of our street, so there was the chance that's what I was seeing, but I also saw the red light blinking for the crane also for Sixth & Guadalupe. The Frost Bank Tower was also visible through there before The Austonian was built.
