Anything besides BIG's stacked boxes, or any other glass box, would be acceptable at this point. Just put something up that isn't embarrassing or boring.

I think 2WTC should be built taller than 1WTC, and with a spire/antenna on the roof.

It will actually make the site look more organic and balanced than the incongruous and awkward assemblage of mediocre towers which exist there now.

The presence of the original towers is obviously long gone, and the opportunity to create a new statement of strength, resilience, etc. is also obviously long gone. It's pretty amazing how badly NY screwed this one up over the past 20 years... to the point that it seems that few people really even care anymore.

That doesn't look like an American skyline. Not a fan at all. Feels too European with that option.

Yeah, I can't even tell if I'm looking at Manhattan or Brussels in that pic...

Most would say that your state's largest city looks a lot more European.

Originally, the Freedom Tower wasn’tvsupposed to be the first tower built, it was Tower 2. Silverstein trued to get Tower 2 built first - he felt it had the best connections to transit and the rest of Downtown. But for obvious other reasons, the governor shifted the order. I think it was the right call though.

People can get annoyed by this until kingdom come, but I wished 2 WTC was a twin for 1WTC. The diamond design is alright, as well as all the others, but what made this area iconic were the two behemoths that once anchored the Lower Manhattan skyline. I appreciate 1 WTC/ Freedom Tower for at least recreating half of that, but the new completed WTC always looks like it's missing something, even with more taller buildings than before.

But either way, hopefully this can get built within this decade, at least as a symbolic gesture. It may not get all the tenants it needs but it will do its best to mend the wounds in the skyline.

I can't see Larry building this on spec. 3 Hudson Blvd won't start without a tenant and that's in a much more desirable location.

From my 3d model.

What good would going back to the diamonds do if clients don’t want to lease the space as designed?

Your work is amazing Rgarri. I hope that the rendering you worked off of is the latest design and not that heinous blob that Yimby posted.

Yes, mostly old world European, not modern commercial. It just reminds me of something like the Commerzbank tower of Frankfurt Germany, or some overly modernized and overly sophisticated corporate structure. The exterior voids just don't fit in with the new world trade grouping in MY opinion. To each their own. The previous designs were better.

Different developers. There are things being built in the Hudson Yards that other developers think (or thought) are foolish. There is no one size fits all in New York. Will Larry build on spec? They’ll have to decide. But as the other WTC towers near the tipping point, the point could be moot.

I'm just hoping we get something built that best represents and continues the legacy of the former WTC. In 2026, it will have been a quarter century since 9/11 yet the area is still a construction zone

If I had to go with a design, the diamonds were always the most interesting out of the other proposals. It was meant to shine precisely on the pools each anniversary, right? Everything else looks like stacked boxes
