- B6 2150 - Depart YVR at 10:13 PM arrive BOS at 6:28 AM (next day)

B6 1974/1975's start date will be on June 9th, 2022 and will be operated with a Restyled A320-200.

^ good news about Air NZ
The route will increase to three weekly at the end of March with flights departing YVR on days 357.

Air Canada has restarted its flights to SYD and Qantas is back this weekend.

had a feeling they'd run the A220 on this route. plenty of range and comfort with not too many seats. maybe if they fill the plane for the 3 months they will consider running the route year round as more A220's are delivered. at least the spotters can get some pics of it in late june before the sun goes down.

I asked before, got no answer, so I assume the response is "no idea" but I'll ask again anyway. Is there any chance of AC bringing back BNE flights in the foreseeable future, say NW 2022-23?

Well, none of us work in AC's planning department so we really have no idea. I doubt even AC don't have much idea at this point in time.

From the information we have right now:
- The route number have not being assigned to another route
- They haven't remove the route for W22 schedule, and is currently open for reservation

But this doesn't guaranteed they will actually operate the route for W22 though.

AC to add (increase) YVR-YHZ service for the next summer.

4x weekly May 7M8
5x weekly June
daily July, August
5x weekly September
4x weekly October

Original plan was to run 2x weekly for July and August this past summer, but the service never started.

YVR-ORD is to be converted to mainline A320 as AC 1048/1049.

Great news for YHZ. AC is also going double daily YYC-YHZ next summer.
Transborder is doing very well at YVR for AC. Great to see mainline to ORD. I hope DEN is next.

What about DFW? It appears to be mainline on American Airlines. Is there enough traffic to warrant it going mainline on AC as well?

Not sure if this was already posted

Beginning November 2021, our north runway may be used for departures during low visibility weather to ensure safe aircraft operations. This includes potential overnight use, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
https://www.yvr.ca/en/updates/north-runway-operations

I assume it's related to this:

Quote:
In partnership with NAV CANADA, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) today became the first Canadian airport to make new satellite-based Performance Based Navigation (PBN) procedures available to eligible arriving aircraft.

Use of Global Positioning System (GPS) and sophisticated avionics is quickly becoming the new worldwide standard for aircraft navigation, yielding benefits of safety, efficiency and reduced environmental impact in many instances.

Effective today, eligible technology-equipped aircraft arriving on YVR’s North Runway (08L) may be permitted to use a new Required Navigation Performance (RNP) procedure, a type of PBN, to land. This procedure uses continuous descent and reduced engine thrust to safely land the aircraft.
Aircraft landing at YVR using the new procedure will reduce total flying time by two–to-three minutes and an average of 18 kilometres per flight; save an estimated 100 to 300 litres of fuel per flight, depending on aircraft type; and reduce total greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 2,500 tonnes per year.

As the majority of the flight path used for RNP landings on the North Runway is over the water of English Bay and the Strait of Georgia, these changes are not expected to impact aircraft noise levels in populated areas.

Although the number of aircraft landing at YVR using the new RNP procedures will be small initially, this is expected to increase as air traffic control becomes more accustomed to the new procedures and more airlines equip their aircraft with the new technology.

From the schedule adjustment both before and during the pandemic, seems like DFW is one of the lowest performing route out of YVR. So highly unlikely to go mainline.

In fact, even the route is still in the schedule, currently it's not open for reservation for both S22 and W22. So it is possible that the route is being discontinued.

Every other express routes out of YVR are currently open for reservation.

Two different things.

DFW seems to be primarily for connections for AA. I don't think there's enough O&D traffic between the two to sustain the AC flight considering the AA flights are more convenient to use anyways (the AC flights aren't in the schedule anyways).

Looks like Singapore Airlines is extending SIN-YVR-SEA to year round services.

Interesting... Just a couple of days ago I saw them reduce SIN-SEA to 3x weekly but no stop at YVR. Not sure if they run SIN-YVR-SEA for the other 4 days, or just convert SIN-SEA into SIN-YVR-SEA entirely.

[EDIT] Answered my own question... all SIN-SEA flight will become SIN-YVR-SEA, and all 4 flights to SIN will be VTL flight.

Does this mean we'll have bookable widebody flights between YVR-SEA on SQ? That'd be fun to book.

Would it even reach its optimal cruising altitude?
