SSP says that Vancouver has 951 buildings and 761 high rises.
Does anyone know what SSPs heights for defining highrises and buildings are?

A couple more photos I took from Mt. Tolmie the other day. It's very rare to have such a clear day to see the Olympic Mountains so clearly.

This is looking across the Juan de Fuca straight towards the Olympic Mountains in Washington State. South Oakbay is in the foreground.

This is also looking over the city towards the Olympic Mountains in Washington State.

Those are some gorgeous images J.OT13.

You can really see the heft of Ottawa's built out skyline well shown within that first image...they may not be very very tall buildings, but they're substantial enough to make a big impression as a collective.
That second image really shows a strong collection of building styles and ectlicism to make a neighbourhood interesting and varied enough to be successful. It looks inviting.

.
Downtown Ottawa CBD really has a pretty good canyon effect at street level as a result of this.

Vanier is one of, if not the last, urban neighbourhoods that hasn't gone through gentrification. It's starting now, mostly around the gateway near downtown (between River Road and Vanier Parkway). I'm afraid it might one day get the bland 9-12 storey condo treatment up and down Montreal Road.

For an area with relatively few high-rises today, it already has an impressive density of nearly 6,000 people per square kilometer.
