Two blocks from a light rail station should get better than a bunch of surface parking and garden apartment density, but it's not exactly the best area to demand maximum intensity.

Its under the airport flight path wedged in between warehouses and a highway.

I think this is fine.

For those having to returns items at the Amazon Hub Locker, you know exactly which empty lot this is lol

That looks very suburban for being on the Light rail. Which side is Washington?

Must be to the right, looking at the shape. That makes a little more sense

Nice, glad to see demo actually go through. Hopefully some nice density goes in this corner.

How long till the same occurs to the CVS across the way? LOL

Wasn't that lot originally planned for a pair of 6 story office blocks/ garages?

What are they supposed to be building there? I thought that building fit in well on that corner.

I noticed this was slowly coming along in permits. Might see groundbreaking "soon."

Surprised I didn't see this come through: the 29th St and Camelback Biltmore Lakes office development is on the demolition block. 360 units.

Drove around downtown today and noticed the old house on 636 N 3rd Ave was torn down and empty lot remains.

While across the street, the old Seargeant/Odaker home remains fenced up. Anyone have any updates on the status of relocating this home to the city owned lot next to The Teapot on 5th Ave?

How the hell did that get torn down? It looks completely viable and was demolished that quietly?

I remember the home being an agenda item in one of DVC's monthly meetings but this was months ago. Not sure what was exactly discussed or what concerted efforts were in place to try to salvage but obviously, they didn't happen.

Just reviewed permit and looks like it was issued back in late Jun 2021. This one flew under the radar for me...

Long stalled Edison Midtown submitted a Fact Finding on 12/23 for phase 2. My records request didn't include updated plans for Edison, so assuming 2nd phase will be built as was originally proposed.

Either way, awesome to see that they plan to finish it up

It's bonkers to me they even sold out the first phase, it's downright wild they could stomach slogging through a second phase. What a shitshow of a project.

It was a terrible product and resale shows that. In this environment they can't really lose. Enough investors are scrambling to dump cash.

The building is literally crooked. Embarrassing.

Watch when construction stalls out after torturing the unit owners that have been swindled into this 7-story-pile-of-🞵🞵🞵🞵 midway through construction because they ran out of funding.

No way they have the public report, but idk If I want to go slog around the AZDRE website even with the construction materials shortage that might just make the second building even worse than the first.

I saw on Reddit where a dude took pictures of a housing development somewhere in Phoenix where they finally gave up on OSB and started wrapping studs in felt and stucco. Unbelievable.

Doesn't really matter what you and I think, they'll sell the units and fill in that vacant lot. None of us will have to deal with the trials of being a homeowner there and life will go on with that building in its place.

It'll be okay.

Received my records request for phase 2 Edison. I can confirm it's the original plan and will add an additional 60 units. I have always been disappointed with the build quality of Edison. But hey, I am just glad to see the 2nd half finally getting built and adding more density to Midtown. I was worried the unused garage would be there for another few years.
