No crane base yet - footings are going in along the north side. It appears the developer for this project and the Chedrawe project to the north have excavated their shared property line to the final depth to make things simpler later when that project finally proceeds.

It looked like they were testing the crane out and maybe setting limits for site boundaries yesterday? It looks like it's fresh from the factory.

true. i'm also impressed with the quinpool tower makeover. i thought there was nothing one could do with that eyesore but i must admit that it was the best low cost makeover i've seen

It looks like it's getting more work done, a glass curtain wall I believe, facing Quinngate. That street could really used some updating given the mix of traffic it gets.

I haven't seen it in person. Are there new materials on it, or did they simply achieve this effect with paint? If so, I am very impressed!

I've only actually been able to give it a lookover while waiting for traffic signals, but it appears to be new cladding covering the old exposed concrete. Others might be able to give better details.

Some areas are painted but most of it is new cladding! It looks great person and really looks good next to the George. With the Quinpool Tower continuing to be modernized, the new pool area, the hospital expansion, and the new tower construction on the corner, this area will really feel different and for the better in the next few years.

I drove past the Atlantica the other day. There is a lot of new cladding in either white or red tones but what is now black is the original bare ribbed concrete repainted. It removes most of the original brutalist elements.
