We'll have some projects finishing up in the near future. Based on move-in dates, the Bowen, Avenir and Sienna at The Thompson will be completed during December or early January.
As with nearly everything in and around the CBD, I'm surprised this one isn't going taller. I have to assume there's something keeping it this small.
Since the I-35 caps are slowly being talked into reality -- do we have a sense of where they could be placed? The idea that this parcel could be overlooking a park someday could/should really change its execution, IMO.

This is small because it's on the east side of I-35.

I remembered this write-up by James at towers.net about a possible taller proposal for the site back in 2019. Would have been really cool.
They just happened to update the site plan today for the 10-story La Vista de Lopez that was mentioned in the previous two posts. The elevations were pixelated to hide them - apparently that's a new thing now. But elsewhere in the drawings the height is listed as 105 feet.

They submitted those with the elevations pixelated out, however, the city came back with their red ink of doom to say "images not legible" so I'm assuming we will eventually see them. The city uses those red notes whenever something is missing or needs to be corrected.

Hopefully. Elevations are getting harder to come by.
I agree! I like that CVC view on the Lamar bridge, and I like a few more. But a lot of the rest need to go (state and city) especially east-facing as 35 is gonna go down.
We have several upcoming projects that incorporate this concept in different ways. One such project is a downtown multi-family high-rise development that sits directly across from a public park. The project is in early design stages, but we are planning to connect the public park as part of the street-level experience of the development.
