As a casual - at best - follower of soccer, I find it genuinely surprising to read that any Canadians didn't like the snow game in Edmonton. If other teams use heat, altitude, whatever, why wouldn't we use our weather to our advantage.

"Summer is a warm-weather sport" - really? It comes from England, where it is a winter sport.

Like all types of football, that's just part of the game. The NFL plays outdoors into January using outdoor stadiums - that's jut part of home field advantage.

I didn't watch that Edmonton game, in fact I've never watched a Canada soccer game, but I'm a lot more likely to now that I've seen those awesome snow celebrations. It's gotta be up there with Celine Dion on a dogsled at the Grey Cup, in terms of images of Canadiana.
