As cool as the Cascade project is I would be really sad to see the Key bank tower go too
The graphic is referring to the old Key Bank Tower, which was demolished in 2007 for the construction of the City Creek Center.

It's definitely noticeable in old skyline shots:

Oh, that's good to hear! I've never really known where the Cascade project was supposed to be I should've been able to tell by the buildings next-door haha thank you. I can't imagine how different it will feel around there with WQ2, CCH, and potentially cascade

Oops correct. And Boyer is a partner with Cowboy on Liberty Sky I think.

I have a friend that just reserved an apartment on the 20th floor of Liberty Sky. I'll have to take some pictures up there after he moves in and I visit.

Liberty Sky is by far the tallest apartment building in the city right now, but it's crazy to think that by 2024 there may be five apartment towers in SLC taller than it: Convexity, Astra, 150 S. Main, SWT, and West Quarter Phase II.

Cascade's podium is already in place. They just need to build up.

Convexity Tower

Does anyone on this forum have contacts with Layton construction (the builders of Convexity Tower because there has been no activity at the site for at least 2 weeks. I was just wondering what was going on ? Maybe supply chain issues?

I was told it would be going vertical in February!!

Even at 21 stories that would be a significant building and I would love to have it.

Yes, prisoners are included in the census count.

Cascade will be at 48 W 100 South.

Layton had all of their subcontractors sign NDA's. Its likely no one will be sharing pertinent project information.

I agree. Marriott should also admit their hotel looks terrible now, should be torn-down, and rebuilt into something far classier and substantial.

Hell no to that! No more pro teams for the burbs! Put the stadium/arena in SLC proper or bust. Rocky Mountain Power has some good land opening up (Salt Lake Chargers!), and the Rio Grande Plan would open up some more. The Fleet Block or one of our block-sized parking lots may also be decent spots for an NHL arena.

I agree but the Legislature needs to have that regional draw to show that moving the prison was right to do. In their original push they mentioned an NFL team locating there. I would guarantee that many Legislators are salivating at the thought of putting an NFL team there.

I'm still mad about RSL. Salt Lake is in the team name. They could have been Salt Lake City's sports team but they negated that by moving to Sandy. I feel like, in a way, SLC doesn't have a professional sports team because our NBA team is the Utah jazz and RSL doesn't even play here. I realize this doesn't mater to most suburbanites and I still root for both teams... but not as much as I otherwise would.

When I visit cities like Portland, Seattle and Vancouver for RSL away matches and we pre-game at bars around their downtown's before marching into the match, I'm always so bummed we don't have that here. Tailgating is fine, but it's nothing like having a stadium downtown, in my opinion.
