Air New Zealand is back!
The first of their three weekly cargo services on 789 Dreamliners from AKL is on its way.
NZ 1024 is the flight number. This runs through the end of March at which time passenger services recommence.

I have a friend booked in January coming from Melbourne via New Zealand to Vancouver.

Looking at the ANZ website, it would appear that the non-stop has been replaced with an AC connection in LAX. Huh... not my friend's favourite airport.

Seems like SQ will be extending SIN-YVR-SEA to the end of winter season, Mar 26.

No change for schedule after Mar 26 yet (SIN-SEA)

Yep & not just Vancouver as Calgary- Phoenix on American Airlines (AA) in Western Canada 🇨🇦 is also gone too for Summer 2022.

Though Vancouver- Phoenix route will still be provided by Air Canada (AC) mostly.

Next summer, at this stage, AA has scheduled 6 daily from YVR. DFW 3, LAX 2 and ORD 1. Mainline to DFW and ORD and Eagle to LAX.

Was on YVR-LHR a month ago, absolutely jammed both ways.

Still a long ways to go to summer 2022, but if current trends keep up I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the euro carriers dump some more capacity on NA, of which YVR could benefit, especially with AC/WS/AT not providing many transatlantic seats from the west coast.

Flair adds YVR-SJD starting Feb 2022. 2x weekly on Tues, Sat afternoon.

YVR-BUR had been reduced to 2x weekly to make room for this flight, even though there are still 2x weekly of afternoon slot unassigned (Wed, Sat)

With Lynx Air planning to start up sometime in 2022 and also based in Calgary,Canada like WestJet.

Any chance Vancouver YVR will see them fly here on its new Boeing 737Max?

Could be. I'd expect them to target YXX instead of YVR, as I expect YVR post Covid will be very busy and once again quite expensive. Ultimately no way they ignore the Metro Vancouver market, so we'll wait and see where they fly from.

What I do expect, given the Tigerair/Indigo partners background, is that the flights will be point to point and not hub based, so less trying to shoehorn flights in a YVR-YYC-Canada fashion like Westjet, but more direct flying like Flair which is great.

they must be expecting cruise business to come back bigtime. the LAX flights on a CRJ700. Yuck. Embraer would have been better.

I see United running 4 mainline to SFO, 2 mainline to ORD, 1 mainline to IAH, 2 express to DEN, and 1 express to LAX.
Delta only running 2 mainline to MSP, 1 express to SLC and 6 express to SEA.

Waiting to see Jetblue's schedule for their announced flights.

Both AC (and Jazz) and WS are adding cargo capacity in and out of Vancouver to make up for severed rail and road links.

Canadian airlines are increasing cargo flights in and out of Vancouver to ensure needed goods get to store shelves, and manufacturers can get products out of B.C.'s largest population hub.

Air Canada today confirmed that it has "significantly increased cargo capacity" between Vancouver and cities such as Toronto, Montreal and Calgary, between November 21 and November 30.

While highway links have reopened to essential traffic, goods movement in and out of Vancouver has been strained, with reduced volume.

Air Canada said it is adding 586 tonnes of cargo capacity, representing 3,223 cubic metres, to support B.C.'s economic supply chain and public need. That is a 45% increase over its normal cargo volume in and out of Vancouver....

.....He added that his airline would operate 13 additional all-cargo flights in and out of Vancouver.

"Air Canada is also working with its regional partner Jazz Aviation to provide additional regional cargo capacity by temporarily converting an Air Canada Express De Havilland Dash 8-400 from its normal passenger configuration into a special freighter configuration," he said....
