It’s the 4th floor along King, I walked by on Thursday. I believe the King William side is only on the second floor still though..

Love seeing new buildings appear in the heart of downtown.

Oh shit yeah, the grunge was quite thick in places. Living at King and Catherine, the spot where it is becoming condos. I was the superintendent there for 2+ years, and the shit I saw was a lot of ugliness. This is going back 20 years ago however.

The work here seems to be moving at a slightly fast pace since the last photo was taken an whole lot more vertical columns are being worked on for section close to king. Really looking forward to seeing these towers rise. At this point I get the sense that these are perhaps the most important towers downtown. This stetch of king seems to be lagging behind the rest of the stretch between Wellington. And Queen.

I agree with you there, these two towers will completely change the look and feel of Gore Park and King William. Giving the core a more modern, Toronto-esque vibe. Looking forward to it.

Taken November 7, 2021.

Excellent work as usual @TheHonestMaple. I myself have a fairly nice drone, though I still haven't even made any use of it, but your photos make me want to learn how to use it. It's just a cool way to go for capturing photos like yours. How high can you go with your drone?

The highest you can legally fly a drone in Canada is 121m (400ft).

I drove past here yesterday and they were working away. Getting close yo having the podium finished in the King St side. We might see them get onto the towers by years end.

How many units will this project have after it's complete? I'm just wondering which will be the biggest construction project this one or 75 James St S.

I'm going to guess this project is more expensive because of the underground work.

525, according to Urbanicity and Forge & Foster (though that article is more than a year old now)

Television City, Corktown Plaza, and that 3-tower proposal on Wilson will all be bigger. There's also that 3-building proposal for Main between Hess and Caroline, and Metro City. Can't leave the RC out of this either, though at the pace things have been happening their future phases may be a while.

"Biggest" may end up being the redevelopment of the Hamilton City Centre (more than 2,000 units are noted by Urbanicity/F&F)... and I imagine we'll see some changes to that plan now that the height limit is not rigid.

All these builds can't come any sooner. Imagine how much the downtown would transform with another 4-5k residents walking around, shopping, working, etc.

The city would be unrecognizable. I wish some people would be able to see the big picture here.

It will be just like the old quote often attributed to Yogi Berra (but also used before his time) Downtown? "Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded."

I believe it’s surprisingly low for a two tower development at 525. 75 James will have 644 I believe so it’ll have a larger population.

It’ll also have a large underground garage as well, from what I recall it’ll also be 4 levels.

Also don't forget the two fairly large projects at 71 Rebecca and 80 John North. I believe 71 Rebecca begins construction in December.

Where'd you hear about 71 Rebecca starting that soon?

I've seen it in a few articles now. Hamilton Urban Core Community will be moving out December 7th, and demolition/construction will begin pretty much immediately.
