There's 3rd and Shoal which is a bit of a dud (though significantly better than expected), but also Northshore, Austin Proper, and 500 W. 2nd, all of which have good street-level interaction, and look pretty good -- not to mention Block 185.

Usually accurate to within a few months at most. Like all things development there are exceptions, but, generally a pretty good source.

1,236'? Luffing Crane??? That's 214' above the roofline of the tower.

Luffing cranes are always way over the top of the building. Indeed's was 754/542, Block 185's is 732/594, Hanover Republic Square's is 730/516, Hanover Brazos is 657/513.

I also believe 415 Colorado's will be a luffing crane. It's 838/640.

The only crane permit I could find for 44 East showed 592 feet for its crane, but I don't believe that number. I think it's considerably higher, and more like what Block 185 and Hanover Republic Square's crane is, which would be around 730.

Having 2 tower cranes over 1,000ft would be a sight to see.

Absolutely!

It's an interesting timeline. The first crane seems to be going vertical in April, the next one, six months later (October), and the last one (the shortest) will be erected in November 2022.

The tallest one seems like it will be up until September 2025. So, move-ins may begin in early 2026?!? A four-year construction schedule seems on par for a building of this size.

Crane schedule seems to indicate that they'll start on the lower hotel portion (technically a diff building?) well after the tower is underway.

Makes sense so they can use that location as staging in the short-run.

Block 190 (Phase II) is also a planned staging area.

I've been told by someone I trust that financing is fully in place for this one. Not sure if that is news or not.

Also it seems like it would be hard to book rooms in a hotel next to an active supertall construction site.

If those crane dates hold true, we'll have a ground breaking in 1Q2022!

I think this is news, though it's not surprising seeing as how quickly this has moved forward (especially after maybe 8 years of Sutton Co. and WeWork sitting on it).

Presumably they have a hotel partner lined up, or at least close to confirmed, so I'm curious to see who that would be as well. Surely something pretty high end, if it's in the tallest tower in Texas, and likely to be next door to a Ritz?

I didn't notice a few recent permits until today:

From today, this looks like the tower crane license/proof of insurance permit:
https://abc.austintexas.gov/public-s...ertyrsn=249656

From September, for Pecan tree move:
https://abc.austintexas.gov/public-s...ertyrsn=249656

From September, for cutting power to the Iron Works BBQ overflow parking lot lighting and power to the little food truck park:
https://abc.austintexas.gov/public-s...ertyrsn=249656

A Plan Review was filed in August for concurrent approval with the site plan:
https://abc.austintexas.gov/public-s...ertyrsn=879326

That "Trail Access Closed" sign has me convinced this thing will really happen as planned. 64 months is over 5 years.

They also filed another permit yesterday for building a bridge over Waller Creek.
