They are done excavating. I guess free car washes while parked underground aren't part of the deal .

Form work already underway, won't be long until this thing pokes up above the ground.

Harley... I see that and raise you.

I'm not sure why I like this plain faced angle here... I just do

I'm so excited for this area as a whole. That ZipLine can frig right off though. It looks stupid and is overpriced. There's no way I'm going to drop 80 bucks +tax on that. I say 80 because it's not something you would do alone.

Agreed. The zipline is a total ripoff, especially compared to the one at the Old Port in MTL.

If it didn't have printed tarps all the way up and down the staircase I would be a little more forgiving. Maybe it's just me, but in it's current state it looks like a temporary attraction.

I think the Zipline is a total ripoff and yet every single time i walk next to it during the week, weekends, daytime, evenings, August or October i see group of people walking down the bridge with the equipment to get to the tower. Seems to be way more of a success then I thought it would

I just had an learned that the Zipline is actually a temporary thing, they said 2-3 years before they take it down. But if its popular I would expect them to keep it.

And I'm sure if they do decide to keep it, they'll build a more permanent/visually pleasing installation. I could see them have two, one from Ottawa to Gatineau and vis-versa. Two way trip! (for an additional fee).

The zipline was quite expensive but don't knock it till you try it! It was incredibly fun and a one of a kind experience. Hopefully the price gets knocked down if it becomes permanent.

I'll definitely try it one day. I initially thought that weird blue storage container lookout thing was the departure point for the zipline. That would have been something eh? Go from the top of that to the roof of the old stone building across the water.

There are one or two birthdays coming up in the spring that would be a good occasion for this. Chances are I'll give it a go then.

Was out for a bike ride this weekend, and took some photos of the park by the falls. It was really nice, the bridge is finally by the war museum, and I was especially impressed that they used the wooden blocks that were used to block the water flow as seating!

Thanks for posting. Pangishimo Park turned out better than the renderings, and that's a rare feat.

Agreed! I think the natural wildflowers are a nice touch as well. It's not something I would have thought of from the start.

One gripe I have though, the metal railings on the bridge that just opened seems to be really poorly finished. There are random sections of metal and fasteners that aren't painted or powder coated and rusting away. There are also sections of railing that have the 3/8" metal rod that is clearly cut with a grinder in a hap hazard manner and nothing really lines up very nicely.

The several disparate types of railing in the same area is unfortunate and makes the development look bit-and-piece-y. I wish they had agreed on just one type or at least coordinated materials and/or colours.

I bet that middle section of bridge is next on the schedule to be replaced, and somebody thought they'd be saving money. Contrasting the stainless super-premium park railing...

I'm surprised they didn't add some finishing to that wooden section. Would've probably felt much better to the touch.

Anyone know why my photos show up so massive?

This forum is so horrible for posting photos...

A good trick with imgur photos is you can add an 'h' to the end of the url (but before the file suffix) to resize it to a workable size.
