That’s 3 stories now with that height, so they must have gotten the fact sheet.

Though this is a more complicated build and is way behind Grand Hyatt in terms of planning stages. Which will top out first? I assume we're looking at a 2028-2030 completion date if this goes ahead?

Let’s get it selected and approved before speculating on completion date. (Hyatt has a demolition to do before being able to start so that’s something to consider)

Yeah, it could be around the same time figuring in how long it will take to demolish the Grand Hyatt.

Assuming financing lines up, I could see whichever bid is selected here going vertical sooner.

I mean the entire Taipei 101 with spire. This building should be 1,670’.

An ode to the Greatest City in the World!

Start spreading the news
I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it
New York, New York
These vagabond shoes
They are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it
New York, New York
I want to wake up in a city
That never sleeps
And find I'm king of the hill
Top of the heap
These small town blues
They are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you
New York, New York
New York, New York
I want to wake up in a city
That doesn't sleep
And find that I'm number one
Top of the list
Head of the heap
King of the hill
These little town blues
They've all melted away
I'm gonna make a brand new start of it
In old New York
And
If I can make it there
I'll make it practically anywhere
It's up to you
New York, New York
New York

Good point. I wonder could Grand Hyatt go up one more tier, I think it would look better to be honest. Still looks a bit fat from the north and south rooftop wise.

JMKeynes a friend of mine said the exactly poem to me over 20 years ago. Though at least the spamming this time is ironically more original.

They won’t go higher because that would trigger another approvals process.

It would be pointless anyway, because someone could propose another taller tower at any time. We don’t even know if the proposal we’ve seen for this site is the tallest of the bids.

- They have received 6 varied proposals for the site, according to the meeting today.

- The RFP for the other larger site, (where the High Line terminates) will be issued

Larger site? Something bigger could grow as well? Or just a larger area?

Both. That will be a multi tower site, and will be more along the lines of what Related is doing over the railyards second phase.

About 1 msf of residential, and 1.5 msf of office space.

That site is shown below in red...

That's nice! I wonder how they'll incorporate the end of the Highline (current end, I know it'll be expanded later).
Also in the previous comment, I wonder about those 6 proposals. Is there anything deeper to them not showing off renders and more info, or is that just normal? Not familiar how this works.

It's at their discretion. They may or may not reveal the six proposals, or we may only get the winner officially released, and the others left to release at their own discretion. I don't know why the Peebles/Adjaye proposal was released by the team. We knew what the bids were for the railyards and the bus terminal, but we never got the bids for the Moynihan/Penn complex, (though Extell did release their bid).

All we know is that they will be using this criteria...
