Great photo! Thanks for sharing.

Lovely photo.

I'll be moving back to Kelowna in December. I'm not sure how long I'll stay, but I'm excited to be living in North America again after almost 20 years away. It'll be the first time I've lived in Kelowna since 1999.

I'll definitely be out taking photos and videos of the new development this winter.

That's going to be trippy!

What an enormous amount of change from 1999. Hard to imagine.

Hopefully you have a pleasant move back to Kelowna! I think you've been back since so it's not going to be a dramatic change looks wise but day to day living you will notice a few things for sure.

Big fan of the podium with a lot of small CRU's, allows for a diversity of small business. Also a fan of the scale in general.

This is nice.

Although I haven't been back in over two years due to the pandemic, I was going to Kelowna on almost a yearly basis to see my parents and friends. So yeah, while I won't be blown away by how much Kelowna has changed, it's still going to be a massive culture shock compared to how I've lived my life in Shanghai and Seoul for the past sixteen years.

And count me as another fan of the RCMP development. Great scale and podium for the area.

Man, the residents in the Madison are going to hate this! Pretty much blocks all of their view of the lake. Bound to happen sooner or later though I guess.

Was in Kelowna for thanksgiving and we drove through downtown and it legitimately felt like an actual urban area, haven't really been back to Kelowna in like 8 years until now as I grew up there and moved away as soon as possible. Downtown is a MASSIVE improvement over 2013 when I fled.

Not a tower proposal but a fairly high density project submitted to the City on a high profile corner.

That's more than 700 new units proposed just from the last few posts of this page!

Looks ok, I'm not a fan of the sloped roof on a prominent road and it's still an island that's far away from anything else but the only way to fix that is to redevelop Orchard Park Shopping Centre which is out of their hands.

Agreed, I walked the back alley outside propera place arena after a hockey game and all sides was high rises, felt like I walked out of the hockey rink into downtown Vancouver. The density was incredible, especially with one water over towering above.

Been meaning to get back for a photo, hopefully soon.

New hotel and parkade at YLW within 2 years:

https://www.castanet.net/news/Kelowna/350158/Hotel-at-YLW-within-2-years

This will be the third hotel in the area (there are two already in the airport business park) but this new one will have a direct connection to the airport.

Also both cranes are up at the Bernard Block development downtown for The Block and Bertram towers.

Not sure if you guys have seen the revised architectural plans for the FSH site downtown at 1405 St Paul.

Went from what would have been the best looking new tower in Kelowna to cheap and eye-wateringly bland. From the best parking podium to something absolutely miserable. Yuck.
