Someone bought the cleared lot at 460 Highlandview in June. I wonder if it will be connected to Concorde. I also noticed in PAOL's ancient imagery, Savannah and Concorde were not connected.

Drove in front of Pine Tree tonight and the large empty lot next to the entrance closer to town has been cleared, any idea what is going there?

I lived there 20 years ago and they were always talking about building something but nothing happened, then a church bought it and had a sign for years but it was for sale again and while PAOL shows no sale the sign is gone and the lots been cleared.

The first building is going up in the Metepenagiag First Nation business park off of Harrisville Blvd.

It's going up at the far end of the main street in the park (the very east end).

No idea yet who the tenant will be.

I asked the City why part of Irishtown park is closed off to hikers. They said: The Spillway Trail, between Ogilvie Brook trail to the Bouctouche Line Trail, will be closed until Friday, October 29. This trail closure is necessary to improve drainage along the trail as well as to upgrade trail surfacing.

According to the T&T, the eastbound on/offramps from the TCH onto Harrisville Blvd will be closed today and Monday to allow for paving.

I anticipate this will result in the widening of the eastbound TCH offramp to allow for a dedicated NB turning lane onto Harrisville Blvd to ease congestion at this busy intersection. Preparations have also been made to install traffic signals at this intersection too. Will this take place this fall, or next spring???

There is active site prep going on on the south side of Frenette, just to the west of the Loblaws refrigerated warehouse. This is one of the three large recently cleared lots in this portion of the Caledonia Industrial Park. There is definitely something afoot here. Anyone have any ideas?

The only thing that comes to my mind, and this is a complete guess, is that Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group have committed to building a manufacturing plant somewhere in NB with construction to begin shortly. They have not announced a location however, but this lot would certainly be big enough to accommodate a manufacturing plant.

This first tenant will be LJ Patterson’s Sales and Service. One of three locations in the province.

That's rather disappointing, so much for it being like the park in Truro (Glooscap Trading Post?)

I’m not sure what’s different, or dissapointing. There are many sales associated businesses in the (Mill Brook) business park outside of Truro. It’s actually one of the key successes with profitability.

The key here with businesses selling products and big ticket items such as RV’s, and whichever other products they offer, is taxes from each sale go directly to the First Nation community.

That’s just one tenant. There’s still many parcels to go.

IMO it's setting the tone- the place is already set between the industrial parks of Dieppe & Moncton and the first tenant sells what you might find in an industrial park. Will this place just end up being an expansion of the industrial park or will it be more of a retail/entertainment plaza?

I mean even if their plan is retail we already have too much of it to go around and if that strip mall next to Costco can't find retail tenants I don't see what chance this new development has...

But then again what I don't know could fill any oceans

I see what you’re saying. Our reserve is targeting it as a business park.

I guess we will see what the future holds for it.

As long as it succeeds it's moot what goes in there. Something like a big stop would make a fortune but I imagine that's not in the cards.

Any indication on what else will go there? I'd love to see a dining option or two as the location is ideal for take out or fast casual.

Post from MLA Greg Turner facebook page about the new school going up on McLaughlin.

Quote:
I took the opportunity this afternoon to tour the new K-8 School being constructed on McLaughlin Drive with Minister Daniel Allain . I knew the overall layout of the site from my time on City Council , when we had the opportunity to approve the project . But what a project it is ! Seeing is believing. The overall size will make it one of the largest public schools in New Brunswick, if not the largest . When it opens in January, 2023 , it will be home to over 1,250 students and a daycare that can accommodate over 250 children . It will feature two full size soccer fields ( they are already finished ) and two full-sized gymnasiums and one smaller gym for the younger kids . There are nearly 125 tradesmen currently working on site and the total cost of this facility will top $40 million . Moncton is currently experiencing a real growth spurt , and this new facility will address the current needs and serve us well in future years .

Either way, congrats, it must be exciting to see hard work paying off and a new revenue stream for the reserve coming to fruition.

Really big eh? Big enough for a high school?

I am sorry for doing this but when I read the quote, the bolded sentence was a trigger for me. I know let it go, but it's hard when we were totally lied to.

This selection of the Royal Oaks site comes following an extensive process that saw more than 20 possible locations considered. Its strategic location in relation to the Moncton High catchment area, the amount of available green space and the additional benefit of having the Royal Oaks developer commit to the restoration of the existing Moncton High School were among the advantages taken into account.
That section of Mclaughlin wasn't owned by a rich Ontarian who could benefit... I mean... That section of Mclaughlin didn't have enough "green space".
