It seems like that 2nd Tannery place building is going up a lot faster than the first one.

What a disappointing ground floor. Looks like a garage door facing Highfield? Regardless, an awful design that doesn’t provide a welcoming and dynamic streetscape. Similar to the NW corner of Highfield and Gordon development, needs more glazing. Blank stone walls lining the street not engaging at all.

The reason why the ground floor has no real street presence is that the entire floor (aside from the lobby area) is being used for enclosed parking. I think the building itself will be fine looking, but some street interaction would have been nice.

I agree this is not optimal. The entirety of Highfield Street from Main to Gordon has essentially been redone in the last three years, but the only commercial enterprise with any street interaction in this area is the Monk 10 restaurant in the Hilton Garden Inn.

With the Avenir Centre immediately next door, this is certainly a lost opportunity.

Plans are to make a 'hodge podge' area of the park more usable.

Tire Shack Brewing is expanding and is planning a two storey addition to their current building, including a rooftop patio area.

There are renderings available, looks nice, but I am at work and can not post them at present. I'll do it later tonight.

Tire Shack makes some great brews and is usually very busy. The existing brewery/canning area is very close to the seating area, so space is limited. This is great news from them.

As promised, this is what Tire Shack is planning on doing:

A two storey addition, with additional bar and seating space on both levels of the addition. The second level will be a rooftop atrium and outdoor seating space. Looks nice!
