This has to be one of the most interesting urban projects in Canada right now. So many amazing views, riverfront, some amazing new public spaces, and the buildings have some unique designs. Maybe Claridge can take some notes....

It is, and it's flying under the radar.

As well as every single government official who has been rubber-stamping shameful architecture for so long, including the ones who have been designing a city for 'all Canadians' instead of a city for its citizens. Looking at you NCC.

Pretty sure that's one of Harley's aerial drone shots. See Post #1393 for additional photos.

With no credit given to Harley either...
You might have to start watermarking your images.
(unless there was a side agreement for photo sharing that happened behind the scenes)

Looks like they completely gave up on the idea of enabling access to the water on either side of the river.

That's disappointing and shows a lack of imagination on their part.

Man... Zibi is great. I'm really glad they're doing what they're doing with such an impactful area. Kudos to them and their planning. It's well thought-out.

If only they were given Lebreton as well...

By “they” do you mean Zibi or the NCC? If I’m not mistaken, the NCC has authority over the waterfront.

Speaking of which, what’s happening to Pangishimo Park is a real shame. Dozens of empty beer cans and other garbage, fires being set on the boardwalk, partiers crawling over the rocks and tall grasses, etc.

For what it's worth, Dream is one of the 3 shortlisted bidders for the Library Parcel at Lebreton. I would also love to see them develop the full flats, but this is the next best thing.

Both I guess.
Parks are on NCC. Everything else - on Zibi.

I don't mind it not looking like the render. The new building looks great, much better than the rendered building on the far right in my opinion.

There is clearly a lack of greenery tho. Plants and trees would definitely help break and soften how very hard and stiff the space feels currently. Looks very tensed.

Access to water would also be awesome, but I don't know how they would make that happen with these new concrete retaining walls.

Does anybody know if they are planning to bring back windows on the old industrial building remaining on the left? (like in the render) And what is the timeline for renovating this building?

I am not sure how it will end up looking, but there's definitely plans to add greenery as part of Union Square, and I'm sure they'll modify the shoreline to at least make it nicer, albeit there may not be access to the water.

Both Union Square and the old board mill are part of stage 2 on the Ontario side, which is supposed to be built from 2023 to 2027.

The Tesasini park, along the Québec shoreline, is supposed to open in 2022, and the renders show some nice water access.
