I'm not sure if these have been up for a long time already but I just noticed them... Hamilton has put up renderings of what they'll be doing with the end zones at Tim Hortons Field.

One endzone has temporary seating, the other has a big social area with food and entertainment.

Tim Hortons Field I have never ever seen it up close much less ever been inside of it even though I do go up to Hamilton a lot because I have family over there

With the Leafs & Sabres not playing at THF until March I wonder if they'll simply keep this setup for when those two teams play there.

Good question... I googled it and the news reports I was able to find on the subject spoke to room for 10,000 more fans than normal at the Grey Cup for a total capacity of approximately 33,000.

It strikes me as likely that they'll just leave the seats up for a few extra months until the Leafs/Sabres game.

Last time we hosted (in late November) it was a frigid week and gameday was blanketed in heavy wet snow.

Should be a fun event, even if there are restrictions on the social gathering areas.

What won't make it fun is if the Argos are in it once again. My friends and I have been to several Grey Cups, and Toronto usually ends up winning the Eastern final those years (though we were there when Ottawa beat Calgary in 2016)

That's what Ottawa did in 2017; we kept the Grey Cup set-up for the NHL Classic Sens vs Habs. Ottawa's last great game. Of course, the Grey Cup and NHL Classic were only a few weeks apart, not three months.

Toronto also kept the temporary seats at BMO in late 2016/early 2017, as they hosted the Grey Cup, MLS Cup and the NHL Centennial Classic within a couple month span. I would imagine Hamilton will as well. I'm not sure if it's still the case, but I recall several years ago hearing that the CFL actually owns the expansion grandstands that they add to the various Grey Cup host venues, so this probably serves as a little extra revenue for them as well.

What are the ethics around renders? So many times you see disproportionately large features like a massive TO skyline in the distance from the condo proposal in Grimsby or whatever or that massive fountain in some downtown TO render or all the super fit body types of the people walking around or luxury cars everywhere. At least in these last two it’s technically possible.

You could get a freak warm day during the Grey Cup but cmon man! It’s not like they don’t have stock pics of small figures of people wearing layers, right?!

A press release from Mary Brown's says they have bough the naming rights to Mile One Centre. They say it will be renamed the Mary Brown's Centre.

Mary Brown's says the stadium will be rebranded with a new sign Nov. 5 with a gradual changeover of branding in the comping months. An MB Chicken Express will also open in the arena.

^ I'm kind of amazed that building went so long without a corporate name.

"Mile One Centre" is very corporate sounding... when it first opened I thought it was named after a company that bought the rights, as compared to "Mile One" of the Trans-Canada Highway.
