Adjaye Associates... is that the group that designed the striking National Museum of African American History and Culture and 130 William Street?

Interesting use of texture and scale.

Yes, I believe those were the designers.

Love it! Big fan of David Adjaye's work, especially his newer towers. Looks like a future icon.

An over 1,500 ft. tower in this location will completely transform the Midtown skyline.

The more I look at the design, I see some recall of the original WTC design.

For an idea of who may have also bid, and how selection criterea works…

Why does the forum say 1,000 ft +? The article says 1,500 ft + and the rendering shows it dominating Hudson Yards, which have a couple 1,000 ft buildings of their own. Are we just waiting for all the rest of the proposals and this is a placeholder?

Well, they haven't been selected yet. They're supposedly the leading bidder, but until they're selected there's a possibility of some other developer and supertall design.

But I bet you this will be the winning bidder.

Whatever bid is selected will be the official height of the proposal. So far, there's only one height for a proposal given, but it's also not the only proposal. The height is just an indication of scale. For all we know, there could be an even taller proposal, if not less, but they are likely to be in the supertall range.

I hope it is. out of the list of the possible developers this is probably the most exciting design that we would get other than possibility of ODA

These renderings show the facade a lot better. I think I like it even more than I already did.

I'd like to know more about the observation deck.

But yeah, this proposal seems potentially amazing based on Adjaye's previous work.

Yeah, it's the finer details that help towers stand out as much as the more obvious features.

Other work....

The texture details are quite striking, hope whoever wins is as bold and striking. We need something that is an exclamation point, something that inspires wonder and excitement. This is a vision that really goes for it.

I like how they’ve incorporated the ventilation structure into the design…

Do we know how many square feet this is, and the breakdown of the square feet for office space, residential space, and hotel space?

It seems that with Witkoff on board, it should be a viable project.

I couldn’t read the full article, but it did say about 1.1 msf of office space, as well as a luxury lifestyle hotel and a micro hotel, and a retail gallery.
