This actually captures the 102 Avenue Valley Line corridor somewhat nicely.

I am concerned that if the wrong mayor wins the Edmonton election, the west LRT is gone 🞵🞵🞵🞵. This will be the first east west LRT for Edmonton, and is very advantageous for people who not only work in downtown, but WEM and the misercordia.

Please tell me that I’m wrong and have nothing to worry about.

Nothing to worry about.

Sohi is a transit supporter.

You have to remember that the mayor is only one vote and they need at least 7. It takes a looooot of political will to change direction on big ticket items such as the LRT, especially when they've already started construction.

I'm working on the Valley Line LRT along 87th Ave. The residents in the area are up in arms, and we ahve had a couple of residents come up to us to complain. One would think they knew about these plans years ago. They will have to get used to it. Construction will last at least 5 years.

We had to set up the total station in that area, as the skyscrapers were blocking out the GPS satellites to our rovers, and we had no reception.

Didn't he used to be an ETS bus driver before becoming a member of Edmonton's City Council?

Yes he was, which could make labour discussions and City Manager/Mayoral relations interesting.

no longer expected to open this year. We learned this morning that a slower than anticipated testing process has pushed the project into the first quarter of 2022. More to come

I think we all half expected it to be delayed. It's ok.

Can't remember if I posted here or Skyrise a few weeks back that I was told they were not done and would be delayed until next spring.

Keep expectations low and we'll never be disappointed?

Meh, not like people are all back working Downtown yet anyways. We should hopefully see more of that in the Spring when VLW finally opens.

The 510X is running at better than LRT frequencies too and I haven't seen one close to capacity. So let's prevent Metro Line 2.0.

One of my colleagues is still adamant we're going to see the line open even later, just before the start of the 2022-23 school year.
