My guess is just empty space. Parapets were built to give a clean roofline. (the Bow's window washing track notwithstanding) Same for Brookfield

2023-2024 Montreal skyline looks terrific. I wouldn't be surprised if the concentration of high-rises stretches all the way to the Jacques Cartier bridge a generation from now. Downtown is filling in but it's also expanding east and west.

Here's a photo i found online. It seems to be pre-CCE, so before 2004, so like 20 years before the future rendering posted above.

Westboro skyline, with Lincoln Fields in the distance. This spot is the current home of Dominion Transitway glorified "station" and future home of Kitchi Sibi O-Train Station.

The bridge is part of the Transitway detour for conversion of the existing transit trench.

It's weird with Telus Sky though because it was originally supposed to have a rooftop patio and now half of the top floor appears to just be unenclosed empty space not serving any function at all. Probably a result of budget cuts. Also odd how the curved corners of the Bow are open to the elements at the top. I always thought they had event spaces or something:

Are you sure that’s not an optical illusion in the photo ?
I think those might be grey colored roofs on the “fingertips” but the way the shadows fall make them look like hollow tubes. I know there is an awesome (indoor) theatre with tiered seating at the top of the east fingertip but perhaps that is a few levels down. I can’t say definitively.

^ Now that looks very cool. I'm guessing QC has the densest and most impressive city centre of any sub-million metro area north of Mexico.

Ottawa-Gatineau. From LeDroit, the region's French local newspaper. https://www.ledroit.com/opinions/deux-vi...-region-21846fd1b106c270725a3fdfd1f75fa6

From the east-end of Jacques-Cartier Park in Hull, looking west. A dozen towers or so, ranging from 30 to 65 floors, are proposed at LeBreton, Bayview and Dow's Lake in the centre of the image.

National Art Gallery in the ByWard Market, looking towards Hull and Gatineau Hills.
