Uh, the normal complaint is that Atlanta does *too much* design on a grand scale, and should focus more on fine-grained details of livability and neighborhoods. How do you figure the Beltline, MARTA, Centennial Olympic Park, Atlantic Station, Peachtree Center, etc aren't "grand scale" urban design?

Of all of the parks in the city, Woodruff is one of my favorites. It's the only one with a true city vibe. It just has a je me sais quoi about it

Yes, I think Woodruff Park is the example I'm looking for on any of the blocks in Midtown, and I figured the perfect place for a park like that would be in the heart of the hybrid college campus/corporate park that Tech Square is. It would be the equivalent of how Union Square or Washington Square Park serve as epicenters of student life for students at NYU. Right now, there doesn't seem to be that sort of place in the city for Ga. Tech students to gravitate to.

Although only a few blocks away, the similarly looking/cladded juniper project should be rising at the same time. The Federal Reserve should be the only place where one can see both at once after their parking levels have gone up, but seeing a 36 story & a 40 story construction site at once

No it hasn't, You are referring to the second phase..

"A second, slightly shorter Toll Brothers building has been proposed for the site, but that appears to be the focus of a later phase".
