Surprised they'd get enough air flow through theose perforations.

I was thinking the same thing.

I think the ground level vents on that corner are for the parkade. Maybe since that box doesn't have a mesh wall side that's just the ventilation for those floors?

Curious what the cladding will look like at grade in that area.
I would be disappointed if it's the same perforated panelling, but it could be, if it's a greenwall.

The perf cladding is being used at many sections of the groundfloor, not sure if this section is getting it though

I suspect they're going to install white mesh panels in front of the gray panels.
There are now white mesh panels at grade on the Georgia corner.

The way they did the base is like the worst way to complement the tower form. Walking underneath it, no one would have a clue how cool the tower actually is. This is the closest thing the city has to metabolist architecture, and they neuter it with a long glass podium that has no geometric relationship with the tower.

They could've easily focused the public space into a square directly under one of the lowest boxes instead of having a uniformly-extra-wide sidewalk. They could've easily replaced one of the upper boxes with a column-free sky garden. The lost GFA can be absorbed into a slightly beefier tower, and would still look more graceful. They totally did not take advantage of the unique structure and the opportunities it could've afforded to creating unique outdoor spaces.

I mean, imagine if they did this to the Shizuoka building lol

Thanks.
I suspect that a lot of those white mesh panels won't have any greenery on them.

There doesn't look to be any infrastructure behind those panels to support a greenwall, and to get vines to grow up them, they'd need to add bits for the vines to grab onto (the metal panel isn't porous for roots to cling to).

Good luck to them getting these to grow all the way up.
